so, in sum:

• Texans hire a proven DC
• Texans listen to proven DC on draft day and in FA
• Texans add TWO MARQUEE free agents on the same damn day (!!!!)
• After all that, Texans still rumored to be in play for the best CB on the market and the best punter in the market?????

Manning is not "marquee" but the rest of your post is on point!

 

Compared to the rest of the guys we've been plugging in that role since the inception of the franchise, he's a superstar.

 

Well he's already the best safety in Texans history but that doesn't make him a "marquee" free agent.

 

i'd imagine he could get some reps at the OLB. He's pretty quick off the edge and was always a bit undersized as a 4-3 DE.

 

So Greco is still the only guy reporting Texans still in it? If so, probably isn't happening.

I wonder what Mario's trade value is around the league?

 

I expect him to be resigned once all the big money contracts are taken care of.

maybe not a "marquee" safety, but he's borderline marquee free agent considering his punt/kickoff return capabilities.
