    Agreed, I trust Lance.

The only thing is he wouldn't know if they were going to redo Mario's deal or if AJ offered to take a paycut to get Aso.

Jets will be a horrible match up for most teams, not the Texans especially. Also, there is a point of diminishing returns... Aso helps the Jets but they already had an elite secondary. Aso also doesn't catch the ball, pass the ball or run the ball, all concerns they have.

The Jets may not even win their division, the Patriots look a lot better as well.

I'd like to see him go to the Bucs and wreak havoc in the Tampa-2. That team is STACKED with young talent... Clayborn, Bowers, McCoy, Roy Miller (easily one of the most promising D-Lines in the league), Geno Hayes, Mason Foster...

Or like you said earlier by trading Mario for picks and using the money for Aso. We would essentially be trading Mario for Aso and a 1st round pick(or whatever Mario would bring). Not enough time to get all of that done though.

Frank can't speak anymore. His throat was crushed when he was held down and run over by a bus being driven by McNair, Kubiak, Rick Smith and Wade Phillips.

I mean damn, has a coach EVER been thrown under the bus more than the Texans FO did to that man?

I think I suggested that a day or two ago, but as was pointed out by (Cat maybe?) another poster, it seems unlikely that the Texans would give up on Mario.

i'm stoked the texans got a quality safety. He's not earth shattering but having a solid guy is a huge step up.

i can't believe the Aso still considering the texans. I mean, no longer are the texans looking to him to be the saviour of the defense. It now has a top 10 corner and a quality safety

I've completely written off Aso, I don't care what the media guys say. If he waited this long, he's not coming here. Wake me up when we sign a punter.

Depends on how Wade and Bum feel about Mario I guess.

If Aso was considering the Texans before, maybe he knew there would still be holes in the secondary. Maybe the Texans signing Joseph and Manning make him more open to signing here. This is all speculation though.

Jason LaCanfora said on the NFLN that it is down to Dallas and NYJ for the Nnamdi sweepstakes. If we still have 10-12 like reported I say sign another corner and Leach, maybe Carlos Rodgers, Cromartie, not sure who else is available.

Not really... less than Duante's and the # of years are good. I am happy with the #. It is 6 million less than what Aso made last year and is not that much different than what Hall makes (Joseph is better).

I'm personally bearish on him in the 3-4, so if there is a deal to send him off for 1st rd pick package I'd make it and gladly swap him out for Aso and Cain. You can't move him though if you can't afford to get a veteran linebacker in to help rush the passer.

Texans Sign RB Brian Leonard (?)

Just checked out the ESPN FA Tracker and there he is listed. Didn't see this mentioned elsewhere.

Yeah, if they really have 10-12 they can still spend I'm thrilled to death.

If they added Carlos at this point I'd be tickled, let alone a guy like Aso.
