I'm still crossing my fingers. I hope they at least can get a guy who will play for a small salary and be a vet.
I am hoping we can get Clements, but I doubt it right now. I agree we still might need some Dline depth as well.
Amobi is not a for-sure goner, he may end up staying under a new deal. We signed DT Damione Lewis IIRC. Is Bulman still with the team? Mark Anderson? Plus, in Wade's system, Mario and Barwin will have their hands on the ground sometimes. Hell, even Reed, too, I imagine.
imadrummer2k #Every draft in NFL history teams pick players who turn out to be bad ahead of players who turn out to be good.
I'm enjoying the signings, but we need another corner. I just had images flash in my mind of Peyton Manning torching the second starting CB. Kareem Jackson and rookies. How much does Carlos Rogers want?
The guy we don't have and could use is a big body that can handle 3-4 end to back up Smith and Watt. Leftover 4-3 rushing ends aren't a good fit for that, no surprise both Mario and Barwin were shifted to OLB. It's not critical....but an injury to Smith or Watt would be tough to absorb as it stands.
The upshot is, instead of Frank Bush calling the scheme and neglecting to give KJ help over the top or Pollard being over the top and whiffing just as badly, we now have a certified DC calling the ball and either Quin or Manning locked behind Jackson every passing down. Hopefully, if Jackson can't hold his own in the flats, we'll see Wade make a switch. I expect he'll have at least 4 games worth of leash though.
Lance is saying on 1560 that there is a rumor that Okoye could be traded for Shane Lechler. Would love it.

A few thoughts, some a rehash of what others have said... Joseph+Manning > Nnamdi+nothing I am stoked that both of these guys come from good defenses. That means they have been a part of good, cohesive units recently, unlike if we went with guys like Carlos Rogers or Clements. I've always envied the Bears secondary and now we have one of them! If Jacoby can return to 2009 form on PRs, our return game will be top 5 in the league. It's looking more and more like we never had a chance in hell at Nnamdi, he was just using us like Pace, Bodden, and countless others have undoubtedly done. He's ready to win, and he's waiting on the Jets to come up with the money. I'll be happy and shocked if he goes anywhere else. I think/hope we'll still pick up another corner, either now or after cuts are made. Maybe if Rogers or Clements come cheap. I'd like to see a fierce competition for CB2 between Jason Allen, Kareem, Mccain, and a veteran free agent corner. John Mcclain has never been more pathetic than this week with all his saving face attempts. Get over yourself John, you were wrong.
Other than Johnson, our receivers look really weak. I would rather try to get another receiver rather than corner. But both a receiver and another corner would be awesome along with Leach!
Its the same guys we've had for a couple seasons...and the offense has still been top notch. It'd be nice to get some new faces in there, but Im not concerned in the least about the offense. If anything, I really think Dickerson needs to get some PT. That guy has all the tools to be a stud.
