With our draft, a new, proven defense, and some secondary additions, absolutely. I have been saying for a year or two now, and I think most football people will tell you the same, the year this team makes the playoffs, it will have a great shot at making some noise. Our offense is one of the best, and our defense could easily be top ten when healthy, if we had some corners.

People seem to forget...we're getting Demeco freakin' Ryans back! Our LEADER on D. Him being out last year proved how vital he is.

But a team that's already elite can't become SB worthy with him?

As happy as I am to see DRyans back, our defense was as pathetic with him as without.

I feel that the 3-4 transition will help him the most, especially since he's coming off an injury. He doesn't have to have as much sideline to sideline speed. Ray Lewis is a shining example of how effective a MLB can be in a 3-4, even though he isn't the physical specimen he used to be.

And he's coming off an Achilles injury which is not easy to recover from and will effect his speed.

Also, as others are pointing out, the Jets had two pretty freakin good corners last year. I don't think Aso's impact will be as great for them as people are suggesting. Sanchez and the rest of the offense still aren't great. That is what they should have addressed.

On the Texans, though, we have an elite offense with a few holes on defense. Those holes will be addressed with our draft and new system. I honestly think Earl Mitchell has a big year. Nnamdi would be the final brush stroke of a masterpiece should he sign here.

Not to mention Barwin and a full season of Cushing.

Barwin's injury was just freak he is taylor made to be a demon of the edge in a 3-4.

In '95 Dallas got Deion Sanders and won the Super Bowl that year, when they already had decent cornerbacks in Kevin Smith and Larry Brown.

Still better to have too much talent to play with if you can do it.

    Wow, good memory.

I'm gonna move on because I'm not trying to come across as debbie downer here. I hope we sign him and think he makes perfect sense for us. I just think he would improve the Jets as well and we aren't on their level as of yet based on what I have seen on the field.

He's still coming off a serious injury. So while I'm glad he's back, he still has a "?" next to his name until he proves he's his old self. The same goes for Cushing in the post-"over training" part of his career.

No I don't think so because they'd be giving up a lot of depth for him. Depth is everything in the NFL. I honestly think they'd be better off trying to keep their team together. They focus so much on big moves that they forget what they had worked just fine.

You hardly see the Pats, Steelers, Ravens go all out every FA like the Jets do. Because they are just fine.

Not to change the subject but our undrafted punter looks like he has good size boot on him. <spoiler><iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/6dP9QPFTW6c" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></spoiler>

I think our offer to Joseph is the largest he has gotten and he is currently waiting to see if Aso takes our price. It sounds like San Fran is our biggest threat, but I think there's a good chance we pick up Joseph if Aso declines.

Well to be fair, we don't know what they would have to give up to get him, since they would be in the same position as us with reworking the cap. And there are rumors of Moss going there. It's quite possible for them to lose Cromartie and Edwards, and add Nnamdi and Moss. I would happily go with the latter.

Moss and Nnamdi would both look great in a Texan uniform. I know most of you would hate the idea of scooping moss but I think he would play great across Andre for a year. Could be magic. Word on the street is he is in tip top shape and motivated. I would take a flier on him for a couple mill.

By the sound of it Smith didn't make a a run till late. Think most of the earlier reports were how Texans were going to give him the best offer. There is hope though which is always good.

He's supposedly going to the Jets on the cheap as replacement for Braylon Edwards.
