I would take "the field" to win the super bowl over the Texans even if they added both.... The NFL is a league of parity... it is why a team like the Texans could go from 8-8 to 12-4 with a few key improvements.
Aso is going to sign for MUCH more then 11 mill per year... It's so sad that I am just excited because we are swimming with the big fish in FAgency.
True, the Jets if they were "it" would have had something out by now,...gotta think it is between 49er's vs. Texans as perhaps the two frontrunners . . .
I can make it a quick response by saying even if we sign Nnamdi, it will be considered overachieving if we get to where the Jets have been the past 2 seasons...the AFC title game. They don't have as many holes as you think. They surely don't have as many holes as us. I hope we offer more!
Yeah, credit where it's due. Pro Football Talk reported earlier that the Chargers upped their offer at the last minute to keep Weddle away from us.
Doubt it. You already had talking heads saying that Last year the Texans were one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL with Tom Jackson picking them to win the superbowl. You already have one saying that Nnamdi would make them a contender. The Jets turned it around in literally one season...which happens EVERY year in the NFL. Texans aren't immune to the parity of the NFL.
That leads me to believe that Aso is not coming to the Texans... no way they could afford Weddle AND Aso... and they would not sign Weddle unless they did not feel they had a great shot at Aso.
If the Texans sign Nnamdi and the 3-4 transition goes smoothly, meaning Mario can play OLB and the other side is average at least, the team would be awesome. Skeptical on all of that though.
1 winning season in 10 years begs to differ. This organization has zero excuses since the fans fully support it and it's one of the most profitable sports franchises in the world.
Do you think we will be in the ACF title game if we get Nnamdi? That's where the Jets have been for the past 2 seasons, even with the weak offense.
That's not necessarily true. I have a feeling the Texans have been held hostage one too many times, and this time, they are not going to wait around for one player to make a decision while others sign elsewhere. If a player they want agrees to their terms, then they will sign him......the offer for Aso is on the table, and he can accept it whenever he wants. That does not mean, however, that they will wait for him to accept it.
if we want two corners realistically we should rootin for nnamdi to head to ny so they release cromartie.... Even Him and joseph oppositing eachother here would be amazing in comparison to our past
Would you say we would be as awesome as say, the Jets have been over the past 2 seasons? Let's not quickly dismiss what they have accomplished over the past 2 years. I think if we made the AFC title game everyone on this board would be elated, even if we lost. Edit: I'm not saying it's impossible to make that jump. Just that a free agent is looking at one team trying to get to the postseason and another team already in the postseason trying to get to the SB.
These things are impossible to predict in the NFL. With Nnamdi though I think they can be a elite team for sure. I'm very positive of that, people underestimate the impact he makes on a team.
The Jets are overachievers and that is because of Rex Ryan. Those guys go to war for that dude, he really knows how to get the most out of his players.
