Pretty much. Something like this was destined to happen. I know it was in the back of my mind the whole time.

I don't hate it... honestly. I'm not a huge Tony Romo fan or anything and I wasn't dying for him to be on this team. I'm excited now... maybe, finally, we've been pushed into a corner where we have to draft and develop a "high draft pick" quarterback. None of the consensus top prospects will start day 1 and be awesome, we know they'll all need significant development. But it's about damn time we drafted and developed a high profile QB.

It's an exciting notion, but I can't help but feel the fear of drafting the next Gabbert, Bortles, EJ Manuel, Weeden, Lynch, etc. Being forced to take a QB early only makes that result more likely.

You and me both... and I'm sure we're not alone. Even the biggest Smith/BOB supporters can't really trust this staff to make the right choice at this point... at least not at the QB position!

I believe that since we know we need to develop a QB, we have to draft the player with the most raw talent available... which to me points to Pat Mahomes. But what do I know? I thought Brock would be just fine in this offense.

So now we are back to our backup quarterbacks, without Boye, Simon, Demps, and Aboushi. What are we going to spend the money on? I hope we start signing some of our free agents soon. We will have 15 more free agents at the end of next season too, and I am tired of so many seeing great players leave this team. I just hope we make a move if we need to in the draft to ensure we get one of the top 3 QB's available. I'm hoping for Mahomes, and will be sick to my stomach if they don't even draft a QB in the first round.

Billy O just might get his hands on Blake Bortles after all...

Funny... The Ringer recently posted its latest mock draft and they had the Jags selecting Watson fourth, which seemed disconnected from virtually any other mock draft - or even draft chatter - that I wondered if there was some deep inside knowledge...

What a turn that would be...

He's also a good speaker as well. To the point, some perceive it as inauthentic.

    Tall
    Speaks/interviews well
    Great leadership mindset
    Emotional

I've never been so pessimistic about a prospect with those characteristics.
