Titans we're getting beat by the Jags, with the division on the line, with Mariota healthy. This is the dumbest narrative ever, and it's amazing it's still being repeated.
As others have said, they played like ass against the jags before he got hurt, and we played our scrubs against them when we lost. To post so matter of factly is just dumb and spreads misinformation.
What's the fun in that? You need to come up with some fake news and advanced pseudo stats just to prove your point. Find a way to count the wins as losses and losses as wins That is what we do here. We don't admit we're wrong on clutchfans. Never! Get with the program.
http://texanswire.usatoday.com/2017/05/04/texans-rookie-camp-dates-set-first-look-at-deshaun-watson/ Rookie minicamp set for May 12 -14. These young guns are going to be playing through mother's day weekend.
Marcus Gilchrist ranked 53rd among 90 qualified safeties last season with an overall grade of 77.1. Gilchrist has been fairly consistent over the past four years, earning overall grades in the 70’s each season, with a career high 79.1 overall grade in 2015. Gilchrist wasn’t a liability in run defense in 2016, but he wasn’t much of a playmaker either as he recorded three stops in run defense but he also missed three tackles and his 2.3 run stop percentage ranked 75th out of 87 qualified safeties. He missed a few tackles in run defense last season but he was nearly perfect, as a tackler, in the passing game. Gilchrist missed just one tackle in pass defense last year and his 27.0 tackle efficiency rating (total number of attempted tackles made per each missed tackle) ranked 11th among 108 qualified safeties. While Gilchrist wasn’t spectacular in coverage last season, he wasn’t necessarily poor either. Gilchrist ranked 29th out of 92 safeties by allowing one catch per every 28 times he was in coverage, and he ranked 52nd by allowing 0.6 yards per coverage snap. https://www.profootballfocus.com/pr...s-in-the-draft-jets-release-marcus-gilchrist/
Texans should sign Jason McCourty and Ryan Clady. If healthy, Clady makes this line somewhere between top 10-15. We have the cap space.
I think our division will definitely be harder this year, but we were down 13-0 against Jags til Savage came in, we get Watt back, I think we are better too. I think Titans will be hardest, Colts and Jags battle for last. I won't believe in Jags til I see it, they "looked best on paper" last year too.
https://www.profootballfocus.com/pr...d-veterans-to-the-roster-through-free-agency/ After addressing their top needs of quarterback and offensive tackle through the draft, the Houston Texans could bolster their lineup via free agency at the safety position: Out of the safeties currently on the Texans roster, only Andre Hal graded above the average NFL level for in 2016, but just barely, with a grade of 76.3. Corey Moore played 388 snaps in 2016, second most of current Texans safeties, while Eddie Pleasant was next with 246. Neither looks to be a long-term answer at the position. Some notable free agent options for Houston: Corey Graham finished 2016 with an overall grade of 80.0, which would easily be the best on the Texans going into 2017. Graham’s six pass breakups in 2016 were tied for third most among NFL safeties. Tre Boston, recently released by Carolina, allowed a passer rating of just 35.7 into his coverage in 2016, best of all NFL safeties. Jairus Byrd could bring a level of experience to the safety position they don’t currently have. Since 2011, Byrd has averaged a PFF overall grade of 84.1, not including his injury-shortened 2014 season. Spoiler
I love the idea of Tre Boston. He's young enough (24) that there is potentially some upside still there. EDIT: I would also sign both Clady and McCourty to one year deals.
Yeah, I dont think anybody can say theyre surprised about this news. Maybe Texans FO knew something and drafted Cunningham, on top of just being great value at #57. Looks like the rookie will get thrown into the fire fairly quickly and consistently.
One QB I can see making a Prescott like impression is Dobbs from Tennessee. I feel like he could do the same as what Dak has done. Really hope Deshaun pans out for us.
I feel a bit sorry for Savage. He must feel like yesterday's "subway." Nobody wants it. They want a "fresh" one.
Her'es someone else who ranks the Texans as the best team in the division. 11th overall. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...ckers-head-post-draft-2017-nfl-power-rankings 11. Houston Texans 2016 record: 9-7 Post-free agency ranking: No. 13 Two of the quarterbacks the Texans considered -- Tony Romo and Jay Cutler -- took broadcasting jobs instead. They ended up with Deshaun Watson, and given Bill O'Brien's quarterback-shuffling proclivities, Watson is sure to start six or eight games this year -- just maybe not in a row. 12. Tennessee Titans 2016 record: 9-7 Post-free agency ranking: No. 14 Two AFC South teams in the top 12? Feels like a stretch, but the Titans sure did load up with new faces (Logan Ryan, Adoree' Jackson) in the secondary and a first-round wide receiver (Corey Davis) for quarterback Marcus Mariota. They were last season's surprise, which sometimes means you have to take a step back before moving forward again. But it's not as if they're in the AFC West.
J.J looks fat Savage practicing how he's gonna stand on the sidelines and watch Deshaun take over games
