I don't see how so many of you want Tony Romo. He was good in his prime I'll admit, but that was years ago, and he's the 2nd most injury prone player in the NFL. He's not going to be able to play 16+ games next season his body is severely damaged goods. We obviously need a QB but Romo is not the answer. I can already see some of you Romo advocators quickly turning into bitter fans when he inevitably gets injured if he signs here. Although our options are limited, we have other options that aren't a hard gust of wind away from yet another back surgery
I am not a Romo fan and don't want him here. But I had a funny thought reading your post. This reads like something someone would have written about Peyton three years ago lol
Yep. And the same people chastised the franchise for not taking a chance on him once he returned to an MVP level. That being said, at full strength, Tony Romo is not the QB Peyton Manning was.
Probably won't get a shot at Watson. This time last year, draft boards had us taking Ezekiel Elliot lol.
The bottom of the draft is always the hardest but the top three picks! Your score is: 10228 (GRADE: B+) Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 28 (DAL): Mitch Trubisky, QB, North Carolina (A+) Round 2 Pick 25: O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama (A+) Round 2 Pick 28 (DAL): Adoree' Jackson, CB, Southern California (A) Round 3 Pick 25: Justin Evans, SS, Texas A&M (A-) Round 4 Pick 24: Julie'n Davenport, OT, Bucknell (B-) Round 5 Pick 25: Josh Reynolds, WR, Texas A&M (A) Round 6 Pick 4: James Conner, RB, Pittsburgh (A-) Round 7 Pick 25: Jake Elliott, K, Memphis (A+)
That would seem to be a perfect situation, but then again, we don't know that he'd be a good coach simply because he was a good player.
The same probably could have been said about Mike Vrabel. Anything is better than the dogshit we had at receiver last year.
Sure, you can find examples of former players who make great coaches, but you can also find examples of former players who are terrible coaches. I guess it's worth giving a shot though.
The Texans would be absolute fools to not at least kick Romo's tires. The flip-side to him being injured... he's only played five games the past two years. So while age is a concern, he wouldn't have *as much* wear and tear. And if healthy, he's an elite QB. He was extremely good in 2015.
