Why does everyone b*tch and moan about a "tough schedule"? 2 games against each divisional opponent: 6 Rotate between AFC east and AFC north every year: 4 Rotate NFC divisions every 4 years, 1 game each: 4 2 games against select other AFC division: 2 = 16 It's ALWAYS going to be like that. It's expected. If at the beginning or at the end, who cares? If we're good, we'll beat anyone. PERIOD. 16-0 in 2008. Go Texans!!!!
Yeah, until either the Titans or the Jaguars really fall off (or the Colts...but not likely) then the Texans are always going to have a difficult schedule just due to our damn divisional opponents.

You have to hope that the difficult beginning doesn't lead to a spiral. Get through those first 4 weeks at 2-2 and things look much better.
Charles Spencer dropped by our studio on April 4th, he looked to be in great shape, said he was participating in off-season work outs. here is his podcast : Charles Spencer on "Put Up Your Dukes with Carl Dukes"
I guess in order to be amongst the best teams, we have to be able to consistently beat the best teams.
Thanks for the link. I really like this guy. Does he have a chance to come back this year? By coming back... will he be able to start? I'd rather go with a pass rusher or cornerback on the first day of the draft if he is healthy.
Matt Mosley on espn.com breaks down the MNF schedule. He says writes this gem: Dec. 1 (8:30 ET): Jacksonville at Houston: I like all the divisional matchups, but this one's coming a little late in the season. I have a hard time believing that an improving Texans team will still be alive in the brutal AFC South. Reliant Stadium is an excellent venue, and the city of Houston deserves the national spotlight. I just wish it was earlier in the season.
Man I can't wait for the draft! Im not an expert on the NFL or the Texans, but I was hoping somone could do an indepth write up on are team next year on all of our positions before the draft, and talk about how our position's rank against the league. I know we are set at WR and QB. We have a front 7 that is going to be our anchor. Our DB's, RB's, and OL are all shaky. We have one great LB. I just want to know what people with expertise think about are squad next year with our signing's (or lack there of) and the up coming draft. Thank you Track
As far as the draft, I'm hoping we can pick up a guy like Chris Williams (LT) but a lot of mocks have us taking a CB in the 1st. A CB is one of our bigger needs but I think the Texans picked up Reeves so they wouldn't necessarily have to take one at #18. As far as our team, if Schaub pans out the way the Texans want him to, our offense should be pretty decent with our WRs. Gibbs should do wonders for our OL but I think we still need an upgrade at LT. I'm kinda suprised that we picked up Chris Brown considering how Green's season turned out, but he's a very productive back when he's on the field. If a guy like Ray Rice is available in the 3rd, I think he would be a perfect fit for us. The secondary is going to make or break our defense next season. Without D-Rob, we have a young secondary w/o a lot of talent. Bennett was a nice suprise last season and I think he'll be much improved, but our safeties have been mediocre at best and I'm suprised the Texans haven't addressed that at all besides resigning Demps.
I recently had a discussion with somebody in the Texans' front office, and this name came up. Could be interesting to see how it plays out. I'd prefer a CB, personally
I think Chris Williams is the #1 target for the Texans but chances are that he won't be around at #18. If he isn't there, a CB is probably next in line. And even though his stock has been falling, I would be pretty happy if we picked up Kenny Phillips.
If the top 5 OTs are gone by the time we pick.....then we'll grab a CB. If one of the OTs are there, then we'll grab him.
