With Duane Brown seemingly entrenched at left tackle, I'd like to see the Texans move Spencer to right guard, if Spencer has indeed recovered.
Kubiak mentioned that when Spencer does come back that they're gonna put him inside. Spencer played OG in college so if he can come back healthy and play up to his ability, our OL could be very good for years to come.
can this franchise PLEASE make a fan-pleasing move for once and draft jamaal charles? the guy shouldn't have made it to the end of the 3rd round anyway.
Dude, I'm a Texas fan, but you can't pick a player because the fans want him. That's ignorant. You gotta focus on what's best for the team.
Why didn't the Texans select this guy? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antoine_Cason I thought they needed a stud corner.
Almost every team can use a stud corner, LT was a much bigger need for us though. We picked up Reeves and Moulden who should be able to hold down the fort until D-Rob comes back.
Simply put, I *LOVE* what the Texans did this draft, and this entire offseason. The name of the game was "depth" and they did everything right without handcuffing the franchise. Duane Brown > Jordan Black & Charles Spencer Okam > Anthony Maddox & Jeff Zgonina Antwaun Molden > Reeves & Fletcher Abidi > Clark & Anderson Barber > Better than nobody being behind Demps! Slaton = A young talent at a quickly aging position for the Texans When you look at, the Texans might have landed 3-4 starters out of this bunch. Whether that is an indictment of the Texans talent level or praise of their drafting skills is yet to be seen... edit** the only thing they disappointed me on was no WR... I really would like someone other than Jacoby and Walter along side AJ... those guys are both 3rd receivers at best.
Yes, Texans resigned him. I was a huge Kevin Walter critic before the season but the guy can play. A real number 2 would still be nice though. I consider Davis more a 2.5 to 3. Should be able to move the ball with those guys.
I think this is more an indictment that the Texans are incredibly thin at some positions than a "Wow...that is a wonderful draft". I can't wait for the day that the Texans' needs are more like wants. The Texans needed a LT, but probably passed up a great trade opportunity because of it.
I like how the Texans handled the offseason so far, I'm a Saints fan, but Texans are taking care of business for the long run. Got to respect that. If the Texans picks do what they are suppose too, ya'll will have a good bunch imo.
You're right. We are still suffering the consequences of bad drafts past. We had to trade for Schaub. That used up our 2nd rounder this year and so we were still scrambling for more picks. This front office has the key though and that is to stockpile draft picks and hit on them. We will see the results this year and in years to come.
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/fb/texansfront/5740641.html Weary back with the Texans as a starter. A bit of a suprise to me. I thought he'd be gone for sure.
I don't know why, but he doesn't get the credit he deserves, especially the way he played last year. He and Winston were absolutely solid on the right side. I really like the depth we have now on the line: LT: D.Brown/Salaam/Spencer LG: Pitts/(Weary) C: Myers/C.White RG: Weary/Briesel/Studdard/Frye RT: Winston/(D.Brown)/(Spencer) Then you've got the possibility of Mckinney coming back, too. Should easily be the best line we've ever had.
