They're not just going to grab any OT. Alex Gibbs has been successful taking more athletic type O-lineman, so the only fits are Chris Williams and Brandon Albert. Clady and Otah aren't really the type, and Long will obviously be gone.

McKelvin and Cromartie are probably the only CB's worth #18, but both will likely be gone. Cromartie has some health issues though (missing a kidney), so who knows. Mike Jenkins might be the guy though if none of the OT's are there at 18. Also, it's very unlikely, but it'd be hard to pass on Mendenhall if he slips. They also might have a hard time passing on a DE that slips, even though they'd catch some hell spending another 1st rounder on the d-line. Here's what I think the draft board looks like (excluding guys like Long, Mcfadden, etc. that will obviously be gone):

    CB L.Mckelvin
    CB D.Cromartie
    OT C.Williams
    RB R.Mendenhall
    OT B.Albert
    CB M.Jenkins
    DE D.Harvey
    CB A.Talib
    DE P.Merling

Clady is considered one of the best OL athletes in the draft, he'll probably be the 2nd OL off the board so he won't be around at #18.

I don't think there is anyway McKelvin falls past #12, DMC and Jenkins are big possibilities if Chris Williams isn't there at #18. Mendenhall would be a big addition to the team as he could come in and contribute big right away. Don't think he'll be around at #18 but like you said, it would be awfully hard to pass on him if he is.

Yeah, obviously all of those guys aren't going to be there. I think McKelvin has just a extremely slight chance, but you're right, it doesn't look like it will happen. I don't know a lot about Clady, but it's not worth debating really because he'll likely be gone. From the small amount of footage I've seen of him, I didn't think he looked like much of a Gibbs type.

Is the NFL Draft only on the NFL Network? Isn't it usually on ESPN?

It's looking like all the OT's we want will be gone by the time we pick, so we'll probably end up taking a corner.

All the CB's who will most likely be available when we pick have questions marks so I hope Smith and Kubiack have done their homework and pick up an impact player.

    Mike Jenkins USF
All the experts say he doesn't like to come up and play against the run and only has 3 career INT's

    Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie
He had a great Senior Bowl and Combine, but he isn't as spectacular on his game tapes like his numbers show he should be playing against less talented players.

    Aqib Talib
Gambles alot, but that's because he's very confident in his abilities, maybe overconfident. Failed 3 drug tests in college so I doubt he's even on our board.

If we had to take one of these 3, I hope we take Talib. I think a lot of college kids smoke pot, and at least he admitted it. Even Amobe admitted to smoking in college.

Dream scenario would be Dallas wanting to move up to get a WR or RB and they deal with us.

I like the CB out of Virginia Tech, Brandon Flowers, but 18 is too high for him.

Dallas swaps 18 for 22 with us and gives us their #92 pick.

Pick #18 is worth 900 points
Pick #22 is worth 780 points
Pick #92 is worth 132 points.....so we are off by about 12 points, which is close enough.

    #22 Flowers VT
#79 LT that fits Gibbs scheme
#92 DE/S/WR best player on board

We picked up Amobe at #10 even after he admitted to smoking pot so I don't think we'd completely take Talib off our board at #18.

Out of those 3, I'd go with Jenkins. He has good size and can also offer something on special teams. Also read that he played some Safety in college so he could possibly move to Safety when D-Rob returns.

DRC is kind of a mystery to me, I don't know a whole lot about him other than the fact that he is a great athlete. At 184 lbs, he's gonna have to gain some weight. I would expect better numbers since he played at a small school.

I really hope the Texans stay away from Talib, he gambles like you said and will give up big plays. Even when he's not taking risks, he'll still get burnt and give up a TD. I personally think Talib could be a bust.

Dallas can stay put and pick up a WR and RB with their 2 1st rounders. I don't think there is a WR or RB that they are targeting where they would need to move up.

I doubt they move up either, considering they've lost their 4th for Pacman, and losing a 3rd to move up 4 spots wouldn't be very smart. Like I said, dream scenario for us, not them. :D

I really would like us to move down somehow and pick up another 3rd rounder. I'd love to find a LT and maybe a sleeper DE.

Anybody think we should gamble on the DE from TCU with a late pick?

He's got depression issues but he's taking medication for it now, and maybe playing close to home would be good for him.

He was a top prospect until his mental problems started this year.

I'd rather the Texans take a chance on Tommy Blake's teammate Chase Ortiz (DE).

I think the texans have talib off of their draft board. I think Okoye only did it once but didn't get tested for it (just admitted to it). Talib has failed 3 times for smoking the pot. Also from Lance Zierlein's Chron blog, he said that he has some attitude problems when working with coaches saying that Talib is a pain in the butt.

Hopefully this is the case because I don't want Talib, I think he is one of the more overrated players in the draft.

    Mendenhall! Mendenhall! Mendenhall!

It would be nice, but I would be surprised if they drafted him over a corner or tackle.

If the draft falls the way Lance Zierlein sees it, the Texans might get a shot at Chris Williams. As much as I like Mendenhall, Williams would be a no brainer.

agreed..i'd love to seem them take a solid tackle like that.

the concern is that williams may ultimately have some health issues that need to be addressed. drafting a tackle who you know will need surgery might be problematic.
