Jimmy G to the texans makes absolutely no sense. A team that is a QB away makes sense for him, a team that is good but needs a game manager to settle their qb situation. The Texans are 20 players away and Jimmy G isn't making any young players around him better. Giving up any kind of asset for a mediocre qb in their 30s for an extremely young and untalented team would be lunacy. Davis Mills on a rookie contract, even if he turns out to be a complete dud, is an infinitely better option than Jimmy G.
Today is a great day to be a Texans fan. Training camp officially underway. And I'm not being sarcastic. Genuinely excited for the rooks and seeing if Mills will take another leap. If he doesn't, oh well top 3 pick for a QB!
I firmly believe we are in a no lose situation….the cap space, The draft capital, A real GM a real coach a real offensive coordinator that are definite upgrades… I’m honestly expecting Davis Mills to put up 4500 yards with 30 touchdowns to 10 or less interceptions With the pieces he has around him as far as players and coaches but if he doesn’t we can reset for next year and get the quarterback that will get us the production
I am somewhat excited about this year. If nothing else to see what Mills can do in a season of being "The Man". Very interested in our running game, I think we used to have one back around 2010 for a few years. Also want to see what the secondary is going to be all about. I'm not saying we are going to the playoffs, just want to get some sort of idea where this franchise is heading.
Yes please. The only thing to enjoy this year with the Texans is the possibly to get Anderson, and hoping the Browns suck to get another high pick.
Just makes me sick to see these 2 morons laughing it up cheating hardworking Texans fans out of their money while putting shitty product on the field for years.
Are there any stud receiver free agents we can pick up with our cap space? I can only wish I guess. I'd love to see Davis have more deep threat targets.
If Stingley is the real deal, then the defense can take a big step forward this year and actually be respectable. That's the impact a shutdown corner can have. I'd also start Pitre early to see if he can add an aggressive attitude to the defense.
Dee Ford is out there... I think he's worth kicking the tires on... even if he plays half a season he would be a good veteran presence. We could be a rare situation where we can give him all the playing time he can muster without worrying about him getting hurt. Kind of a chance for him to recoup his value and the Texans to get some veteran snaps on a young defense.
There are warts on Davis Mills but I'm optimistic because of what wasn't around him while he was doing it. Cooks and Laremy missed a lot of time and the running game was awful. Surrounding him with mediocrity would be a huge help for him...
The excitement is so palpable that we’re two days into camp and no one has bothered to create a training camp thread yet
He'll go to the Rams. At this point I'd take Will Fuller and hope he isn't as fragile as he was before.
