Heard a quote by b.o.b that I did not like at all. That he will still be 'heavily' involved with the offense. He was kind of taken back when asked about it. That was the revealing part, that he just had to let everyone know he will still be involved like he was offended. I felt a teapot beginning to get lukewarm. The Chiefs and Texans, as crazy as it sounds, offensively are similar. If Fuller plays even 14 games , both teams could have two 1,000 receivers..Kelce and Hill vs Brandin and Fuller. Next up, their third wheels in Stills Vs Watkins. It's pretty even with what they provide.Cobbs vs Hardman. Akins and Fells split 800 yards where as the Chiefs Back up TEs don't even get bread crumbs. Last season the stats for the 3 main guys in each team's receiving core were also similar( when they played). However, the biggest difference is that the Chiefs do it so easily with presnap deception whenever they want. With the Texans, it's all so cringe. no flow. It feels like a grind. Let's morph into this and that. F'ing power rangers of the AFC. In a way, I like the concept of being able to morph like the Pats but again, the goat was 27 yrs old when he started mastering that ish. If the Texans have all these receivers + receiving Rbs and they're still letting the opponent's defense dictate their offense then there is going to be a factory of sadness all around. Meanwhile the Chiefs have already drawn up a couple of plays that will get McKinney to concuss Roby without getting called for an offensive pass interference. This might look like every post of mine from since the Brady offense came to town back in 2014, but I was hoping to never to make such a post again with Kelly getting the O.C position. I fear that we haven't heard the last of play caller BoB. Hope I'm wrong.
I'm probably being naive, but I didn't take it the same way. He did sound kind of annoyed and perplexed, but I think that's just B.O.B. being B.O.B... Clearly he will still have some input, but if he isn't actually calling the plays it should still be a huge upgrade. I don't doubt that if he was only the OC, he could be a good playcaller, but when he's the HC, GM, Cap Specialist, COVID-19 Captain, Team Physician, Cafeteria Manager, Custodial Operations Manager, and Lord Dictator of the organization he doesn't need to be involved with play to play selection. That's how you get a situation where it's 4th and 1 and he "doesn't have a ****ing play!!!" I think he realizes he had spread himself too thin, and I'm hoping having a true OC will mean we are smarter and more efficient in situational football. Obrien as a "walkaround HC" like Tomlin, Vrabel, etc. could be really good for this team. I've been saying that for years. With all his faults, he has always done a good job of getting his players to rally from adversity, taking each week as a separate season, etc. (2-5 start in 2015 with multiple blow outs, 0-3 in 2018 to 11-5, we tend to bounce back from awful losses → although that's probably more of a Deshaun thing). I may be cursing him to the moon later tonight, but I'm hopeful and cautiously optimistic. Go Astros, Rockets, Texans! Let's get greedy! (and can we please get a muthafukin game thread already?!)
Were you at Training Camp? Then you have NO Clue what the Texans offense will look like. Stop acting like you do.
Big fan of Cole but dependent is something he hasn’t been unfortunately, not his fault though either.
I think that's how they used to say it, but someone must've figured out the acronym and changed the order
There is no point in painting against the Chiefs. The best you can hope for is holding them to a fg. You need more plays for the offense.
