"It is a four-year, $58 million contract, according to the Houston Chronicle, with $23.5 million guaranteed.

Cunningham's $14.5 million average annual salary makes him the NFL's third-highest-paid inside linebacker, behind the Seahawks' Bobby Wagnerand the Jets' C.J. Mosley."

Lot's of non-guaranteed money in that contract.

What does Trump have to do with this? My thoughts on this have nothing to do with Trump and everything to do with the players and their ability to show how much they care should be directly related to how much money they're willing to lose for the cause.

If it were me, the players that wanted to play would be allowed to play and those that didn't would be replaced by G-League, MiLB players in football.

Apparently you cant separate your sports from your politics.

    I.D.I.O.T.

I like the deal and Zach was top 2 or 3(?) in tackles. Hopefully he hasn’t reached his full potential.

They still dont have a LB that can cover a baby with a blanket. But they've paid both McKinney, Cunningham like they can.

    Hope you're right.

They brought him in to cover the TE, he was pretty good at Vandy in coverage. But he's been a disappointment in coverage with the Texans so far.

No one would replace those players, because if they did, they would be black-balled as SCAB players. The NFL will not do that again. Plus, those players would draw the ire of players and fans as ignoring social justice issues. If a player wanted to EVER have a chance at the NFL under normal circumstances, they would be wise to avoid that situation.

It's happened before during the strike yr.

Believe it or not it really wouldn't hurt attendance, just like it didn't then. If the status quo continues you can bet attendance will suffer.

No problems with this. Dude has done nothing but get better each year. He’s a rangey LB who adds versatility and is probably best hybrid LB they have in terms of run stopping and coverage ability.

Dude, that was 1987. There is a reason it has never happened again. The attendance was AWFUL (I guess you were too young or not born at all to remember). The quality of play was equally bad. The players who crossed the Pickett line were hurt in future NFL opportunities (only a few ever played in the NFL again). The owners would never be that dumb again.

    Average before strike: 58,514

    Average during strike: 23,626

NFL Average Stadiums sizes were smaller then.

They broke the union and broke them again in the latest CBA negotiations. The strike is the reason the players caved again. The owners weren't dumb when they locked the players out before the last CBA.

I know some of the players on the Redskins came from the strike team

Bit of a knucklehead but Fournette would be a nice addition to the backfield.
