    J E T S Jets Jets Jets......u guys shoulda won that game....but im glad u didnt.

Anyway, boy is this board gonna blow up if the Cowboys end up w a better record than the Texans.....i would have never thought that was possible 3-4 weeks ago....the frustrating thing is that the Texans should be AT WORST, tied for the division lead....i didnt think for a second that the Texans would be one of the league's whipping boys by week 10.

What is more frustrating is that given how the Cowboys responded thus far to change, I would hope McNair would consider a mid season change....bc as crazy as this is gonna sound, they still have a chance....

The dumbest thing about giving Kubiak that extension is the fact that McNair is now binded into paying him through 2012 no matter what. Plain and simple, Bob McNair is part of the PROBLEM, not a part of the SOLUTION. He did a great job bringing a team to town, but as far as personnel decisions, he's been HORRENDOUS. I don't understand how he can justify NOT bringing in a new head coach after this abortion of a season, but he's going to find a way to do it.

I was able to watch the last minute but of course that was the worst part...i was thinking...no way we give up that lead w/ less than a minute let...but of course...the Texans secondary is worse than the Cowboys and that's not saying much...

But having said that...Sanchez had all f'n day to throw...no pressure no nothing...Kubiak should be fired, but if not definitely the Def. Coord. something has to be done and show that this is serious...you can't lose back to back games like that and be acceptable...

But who would McNair promote? Garrett has been waiting in the wings for a while. Frank Bush is the 2nd highest ranking coach on the team...I think

If Ray Rhodes is healthy enough then make him the head coach for the rest of the year. Not the long term solution but a spark and keeps the seat warm.

sometimes, any change is a good change...i dont know what the answer is in terms of who on the staff commands the most "rep" from the players, but theres gotta be someone on the staff who they will respect...if not, ugh...

maybe they can bring in Childress.....the Vikes just canned him.. (no, i wouldnt really like to see chilly here)

First off I'll continue stating the obvious-this team and especially the secondary-sux majorly.

    Now
I don't get the Bill Cowher thing. It's nice folk are on the hire Bill Cowher thing but seriously what are the odds he'd want to move to Texas? Especially when the job in Carolina will be open when he is already in the same place. Wouldnt it make sense to focus on who else is open that would realistically consider coming down to Houston? For example Brian Billick, John Fox, John Gruden, even Rob Ryan who would bring a heckuva change in energy to this team and an even bigger change with his defensive mentality.

    Also, the McNair hate.
McNair seems more reasoned than guys like Al Davis, Danny Snyder and Jerry Jones- who can mean 50 things when he says one sentence. These guys aren't better owners than Bob McNair and I'm sure come seasons end McNair will payoff Kubiak and send him on his way. He believed Kubiak would take the team forward and unfortunately this season has fallen apart. I'm sure McNair feels the hurt from this season and will make the required changes at seasons end.

Also, the last person that should be laughing at the Texans secondary is that Cowboys reject Jacques Reeves. He was and isn't good enough to play in the current Texans secondary which as we all know is a **** secondary. That says a lot about Reeves lack of ability.

What kind of ignorant **** is this?!?!?! some of us fans in houston have to drive all the way downtown from katy or sugarland, which is about 45mins-hour drive... to see the WORST PASS DEFENSE IN THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL. I REPEAT, WORST IN THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL. Gimme a break, if u dont think things are bad here, your delusional. One single aspect of our football team has cost us are season, and since there likely won't be a season next year, this is what all us Texans fans will have to remember! I think Dunta Robinson is a overpaid, crybaby, b****. But i still wish we would have kept him, bc we would probably be 8-2 right now. Oh well, i guess there is always NEXT YEAR (really 2 years away).

    agreed.

I'm sorry, but the letting go of Reeves and Bennet (not to mention Dunta) is another nail in this regime's coffin. Because as bad as Reeves was, he would immediately improve this secondary. Yes, that is how bad this secondary sucks. It is a legendary, historical suck, matched only a handful of times in NFL history.

To be fair, Mario isn't out there covering wide receivers. He did his job, and he had 2 sacks...

waaaaaa. pre-Garrett, the Cowboys were in far worse condition than the Texans. 4 wins is better than 0. Additionally, no argument was made that "things aren't bad here". With takes like that, do be careful who you call "ignorant" and "delusional".

Wow! If the feeling is that Reeves would improve this secondary then wow. I shudder. This secondary is even worse than I've seen or thought. Oh my. Oh my.

Yes but at least Texans fans still have the option of public transportation to and from the game unlike Cowboys fans who HAVE TO drive to every home game.
Secondly, ooh, Texans fans have to drive downtown from Katy or Sugarland. Dude, I like both the Texans and Cowboys but we know the Cowboys have way more fans from all over the country than the Texans. With that being said, Jerry had to apologize as fans fly in to Dallas for every home game. Fans fly in from all over the country to see the Cowboys play and under Wade it was to see them play like ****. Billionaire fans that pay Jerry a ton of money for his fancy luxury boxes fly in to the little airport in Arlington each Sunday to watch that team play and Jerry had to apologize to them for his team's performances under Wade. Cowboys-Texans ain't the same.

I'm going to say, for as much as I'm through with the Kubiak regime, it does no good at all to fire him (or even Bush) at this point. No one could come in today and implement changes with 40 days left in the season. Gibbs, on the other hand, should be tasered and thrown out of the facility immediately. Replace him with a coach from Pershing elementary.

At some point, McNair has to start demanding reasonable accountability from his team.

At least the Titans have done us a favor by imploding right before our home game against them. (Please God, don't make Sunday a Rusty Smith coming out party)

Given how ridiculously inept this secondary has become, I think I seriously would have trotted out this group Sunday to defense what was the game winning drive:

    Mario-Smith-Ogunleye-Anderson up front
Cushing (TE responsibility) with Pollard (backfield release) behind the line
Quin, Jackson with sideline responsibility (my god, how did Quin not understand that. FIRE GIBBS)
Nolan, Wilson, McCain in 3 deep zone.

You probably know more about adjusting your defense to the matchup and game situation than Frank Bush... and I'm serious.

That right there is an easy quick change that could have made defending 75 yards of field in 45 seconds the easy task it should have been. NOT a cover 2 with man underneath when the Jets will obviously run multiple vertical routes.

What else? How about no 5 yard cushion on goal line situations? Another immediate change that has a definite and direct effect on the scoreboard. Blame has to go to both Bush and Gibbs, because somebody thinks these are good ideas, and heads should roll without hesitation because of that.

Playing the Jets brings out the worse in Houston Fans
Maybe . .. in this instance the OC should have done it to the DC
instead of the other way around.

I wonder what Kubiak would be like with Buddy Ryan as a DC
While Kubiak maybe HC . . . i think old school Buddy would really call the shots!

Too bad Buddy was never much of a HC either.

There are such things as "career coordinators"... guys who are just better off never taking the head job. Dick Lebeau, Dom Capers, Kevin Gilbride, Charlie Weiss, and Romeo Crenel are current active examples I can think of.

Great "speed" line-up there. I was thinking we either play quarters or Cover 3. Quin didn't give up the big play, it was Allen.

And for all the sins on that big play, the biggest was letting him get out of bounds, thus stopping the clock. It definitely compounds the decision to not take the sideline away.

I've been advocating for a long time to maybe move Pollard down to OLB in passing situations to keep him closer to the LOS and then have Nolan and Wilson (or whomever) back playing coverage.
