Effin' amazing. This guy is supposed to be an OFFENSIVE GURU, a mastermind of the offense if you will, and he doesn't know how to manage the clock when we have the ball. Take me now God, I have seen it all.
Ugh. Receiver drops continue to kill this team. With such a crappy defense, if this offense isn't rolling the Texans stand no chance. Ugh. BS roughing the passer call there on Pollard.
Have you ever played football? You rely upon instincts... you're forced to react to the movements of skill players, fight off blocks, and make quick, instinctive decisions, and it can be difficult to target an offensive player in a specific area of his body. Nasty technique is utilized in the trenches, but if you roll in to Peyton Manning's cleats you get flagged and fined. It takes a mental toll on the defensive players, because they forced to restrain and hold back, and they begin questioning their technique, which they've practiced around 20 years. It's ludicrous to expect these men to refrain from physicality in a violent game. Down right ludicrous.
The rules were made for a reason. Players are bigger/stronger/faster than ever these days. There is also much more known about head trauma/concussions/long term ramifications of the hits these guys take every week. I'm not saying that the QB shouldn't be touched... just that there are consequences for making illegal contact.
I'm suprised the Jets went for the FG there. They must think that their offense isn't going to do much and needs all the points they can get... otherwise they would have been able to pin us deep and make it a field position battle.
And yet, the players not named Pollard seem to know how to be physical and not commit penalties regularly without a problem.
Same direction as we were going to end the half. Maybe that's why we didn't kick the FG, but then again, we have nothing to lose by giving Rackers a shot there (except the blocked FG, return for a TD...).
