The Jets double teamed Owen Daniels who I guess is Carr's go-to guy on 3rd down, Carr's gotta get rid of the ball somehow, you can't lose yards when you're in field goal range.
Why can't we ever make plays like that? How do you expect to score when all you do is throw 6 yard passes.
Because for us to get pressure on the QB, we need to bring extra defenders (and thus expose our DB's in one-on-one situations). Plus, our safeties are the worst in the NFL. For other teams to get pressure on us, they merely need a base rush... allowing constant double teams of our best receiver.
Well, we had 2 chances to take the ball away from the Jets ....forced fumble, and the bobbled should have been...interception. Atleast we held them to a FG. Let's go get some points. Go Texans.
You can't drop him back... he's getting sacked with 4 man rushes. The offense is more productive with quick slants, quick outs, and play-action.
That doesn't work. You get yardage but the drive is going to stall. this team can't win unless it can get gains above 20 yards. If we can't figure something out, we'll lose.
I expect Carr to get another screaming in his face from Kubiak again. We win this one close in the wee minutes. Brown Komes through. I believe Stanley has been the only punter the Texans have ever had. But not to shy away from your point, I never fumbled a snap EVER. Heck, NFL punters should NEVER do that.
Yea... so just dropping him back, and trying to let 20 yard plays develop is the solution? Its not... especially when this line won't block for more than 2 seconds of time, or when Carr is struggling to balance when to push the "eject" button and scramble (what he has to do) vs. when to try and let the line block for him and let the receivers get open (what we all want the team to do... and what most successful offenses are able to do). West coast offenses are effective at establishing the short pass, making the defense adjust, and then burning them deep when the opportunity gets there.
Yup. Same problem UT and A&M both had this weekend, and what the Texans have had a lot this season (especially last weekend). If you get 3-6 yards at a time with no big plays, then all takes is 1 penalty or 1 sack or 1 bad play to end a drive - and chances are, you'll have at least 1 of those somewhere along the line every drive. The result? Lots of yards, few points.
They're not even executing the short stuff today... and they're losing more yards at attempting the deeper stuff. Also, our defense is getting exposed at defending the deep ball... although that was a BS call.
The Texans defense has held really tough inside 25 yards. The O has looked bad...and I don't think it's just the line or just Carr. They're both playing like garbage.
Quick slants, roll-outs, and play-action... what this offense is best at. (in other words, all plays designed to help the QB evade pressure).
I can't take it anymore. This game is so damn boring, I'm going to the Galleria. The NFL should adopt the rules of college football (except the play ending when the knee is down without contact.)
