I often wonder, how is Del Rio still Jax's head coach?

If Kubiak at let his 3rd string rookie QB attempted a deep pass to receivers he has no practice with against a defense he didn't practice much, and said 3rd string rookie QB throws a pick 6 and the Texans lose, would you claim he made the right call because he at least wasn't a p***y?

credit to Kubiak for calling a great game. if yates threw an incompletion in any of the previous drives, there would have been more time for the Jags to come back.

Great game, defense. Awful game, offense.

Commentator: It would be a miracle if either Leinart or Schaub will be the starting QB next week.

Uh, Schaub's on IR. I'm pretty sure he won't be starting again this season.

Yeah and Kubiak would get just as much flak if he opened the passing game and Yates threw a pick 6.

This isn't Leinart who's had two years and a bye to prepare. This is a rookie QB thrown right into the fire.

We came out with a win riding our 3rd string QB...I'll take that.

Exactly... after all the b****ing and complaining, we held on to the lead with the strategy of NOT LOSING.

Yates was more likely to make a mistake (as all rookies do) without a full week of preparation than he was going to look like a pro bowler. They already had the lead. Had they been losing, then by all means unleash him and see what can happen.

He'll get more reps this week and be prepared for next week... but for this game, all he needed to do was not make mistakes that would lose the game.

I don't think Kubiak called our defensive plays.

We only won by seven. Had Jacksonville had a more competent offense, we would have probably lost.

I know, I know, you call the game based on the team you're playing.

We certainly weren't running clock the way we were intending, either.

I'm fine with the way things played out. In the end we won. A win is a win is a win. I just hope Yates can get some good reps in, and we can throw the ball a little the next game. I understand why Kubiak was running the ball so much, but Jesus H that's frustrating.

Escaped with a win. We need a QB though. This **** won't work against the Falcons next week. I'll take the win though.

he calls Kubiak a p***y coach for his approach, but at the beginning of the 3rd quarter DD said himself, "just run the ball...very few passes."
