I hate seeing the offense struggle too, but it's hard to say Kubiak is making bad calls. We still have our 10 point lead with our rookie third string QB against a top defense.
I don't blame Kubiak for the playcalling. This type of crap will likely win us the game. And then he can start prepping Yates for the next game rather than having something bad happen this game. Yates is not going to learn much this game. Might as well keep things tight until he has the benefit of some practice. If Kubiak still does this next week is when problems will arise.
a penalty on jacksonville? i thought maybe they were going to announce they just reviewed leinart's TD pass and decided there was a hold on the play and it was now 13-10. watching out first game against jacksonville i couldn't believe how bad he was. and i think he might have been even worse today. a rookie qb who has no accuracy and no time to throw does not appear to be a good mix.
People complaining about not throwing the ball have no idea what they are talking about, a turnover could be the momentum swing for the jags. Keep drainin the clock and take care of the ball.
People seriously need to understand this. Rookie QB that has never taken a snap during a REAL game. You have a 10 point lead with your defense dominating. The last thing you want is to turn the ball over on your side of the field and give them an easy score. It's ugly, but at this point, we just need to get out of here with a win.
How is he not making bad calls? They're stacking the box, resulting in us getting no first downs. Even if he's trying to run clock, running off a minute on three and outs is not very efficient when you're only up ten. On top of that, you have the best receiver in the league, who needs to get in game shape, you have a rookie quarterback who needs to see the speed of the game, and learn some decision making. You're playing the league's worst offense, so even if he makes a mistake, it probably won't be that costly.
