I just woke up in time to watch the end of the game highlights. I am not even crushed or sad, that's just straight up hilarious. It's almost like the Texans, instead of practicing, are literally looking for new ways to lose. We have state of the art lose-researchers.
They don't call penalties on hail-marys but Kareem Jackson got away with a hold and pass inference on Mike Sims-Walker and also Mario Williams was very obviously held but Jordan Black.
Sorry to bump my own post but I just have to add this. Apologists might look at that and say (for the most part) you can't blame that on Kubiak. I disagree. Coaches get blamed for penalties and turnovers all the time. It shows a lack of discipline. The Dressen false start when we're on the edge of an already long FG is unforgivable. I also blame Kubiak for not calling a play that focused on sideline routes. Even if Schaub is to blame for throwing it over the middle, it should have been made clear to him by the coaches that that wasn't an option. I still don't know why our corners were playing up on the receivers on the hail mary. We have clearly demonstrated that our corners get burned on deep routes when giving only a small cushion. I can't help but think that we would have had more defenders in the area had we just dropped our corners back. And with more traffic, maybe Thomas doesn't even get a hand on the ball. Watch the replay. Thomas had beaten his man. there was nobody between him and Quinn. If we had dropped more than 3 players deep, we would have had a crowd around the ball and Thomas probably doesn't get a chance to catch the deflects. Why the **** were we playing our corners on the line of scrimmage knowing full well they suck and it would be easy for the receivers to get behind them? That's on Frank Bush and consequently on Gary Kubiak as well.
Maybe we can go 7-0 from here on out and make the playoffs. Got the Jets, Titans, Ravens, Titans, Jags, Broncos, and Eagles. WOOO!

A smooth coordinator would have done what the falcons did on thursday night and asked walter or andre to go back there and defend. I wish the media would just ignore the Texans and just talk steve francis at the two like back in the day when we had no football team. =)
Had my youngest son's birthday party so DVRed the game, that is the most unlucky thing I have ever seen. This Texan's team is definitly a Houston one...that had Houston Oilers written all over it. I do wonder about that last play call by the Texans though...why throw over the middle? They had no way of stopping the clock...... DD
Whatever... this is still better than not having a team at all. In fact, the more these losses really "hurt" indicates the more this team gets interwoven into Houstonian's sports DNA. Several people haven't "cared" about the Texans until they showed them something (the preverbial "If you win, I will watch")... but with time, and inconsistent success vs. mediocrity, they have found a way to get into everybody's heads and make losses like this truly hurt.
Looks like McCain was the one initially covering Thomas. Thomas got behind him (because we were playing our corners on the line) and thus there was nobody between Thomas and the ball when Glover batted it down.
That was on Shaub. Kubiak even called him over there to talk to him about that ill-timed pass. The camera even panned to Dressen and you can even see Dressen saying "Why did he throw it to me?"
feel bad for GQ. He did what you are taught...knock the ball down. Unfortunately he did it in the one situation where that rule doesnt apply. really, I'm surprised a interference flag wasnt thrown agains the texans
Well . . . .. . . not to drink kool aid but If JAcksonville wins on some crazy hook and lateral play which starts with a short pass . . .. we'd be b*tching about the opposite . . NOT having someone there Rocket River
What's crazy is that even after Glover Quin batted the ball down Thomas juggled the ball and only caught it on a second attempt. Jags got lucky on a fluke play.
Actually Steve Tasker was the one that said that. He was jizzing in his pants b/c he is a Houston hater.
