Schaub showed toughness. I feel bad for us fans and andre. And HB pass from the 5 yard line? really??
when you've been marching down the field on a defense, what the hell was kubiak doing calling a hb pass? 4 downs to get it into the endzone and you decide to put it into the hands of chris brown....
Bingo. Your season is on the line there. Your job is on the line. You decide you would rather have your 2nd string RB pass it than let Matt/Andre hook up. One play shouldn't cost Kubes his job, but the fact that your head coach made such a bad, bad, I mean BAD, playcall in such a desperate situation....he may just loose the team on that.
For Carolina. If that job comes open, and it probably will, Cowher will want to stay closer to home. That HB pass was literally Gary Kubiak's job going poof. I was wondering if they could fire him in-game. He's made some stupid coaching decisions in the past, but this is by far the worst. Some one please do that Astros tombstone pic for the Texans 2009 season and for Kubiak's job.
I hope the Jags don't make it to playoffs, whoever gets them is assured 2nd Round playoff berth. SD, N.E., and Cincy.
Absolutely. It'da been better to try a fake field goal pass letting the other Kris Brown throw than call that play there. A reverse to Kevin Walter or someone might have even made sense. Its not like Texans have had any kind of Wildcat formations and have familiarity with running backs making plays in the pocket. Ricky Williams threw an INT weeks ago. At least they called that play in the 1ST HALF. Instead of some desperate times call for desperate measures play.
I think we all know that had that play worked, we'd be talking about how ingenious it was. Still, it didn't. On behalf of all Texans fans..I will be placing a call to Graebel Movers to help Gary an his staff in their move out of the Reliant facilities. Moving out your your offices can be a very daunting task and they should be able to call on the best.
I am speechless. I just do not know what to say. The way this season has gone down in flames has been so tough, even for a veteran Houston sports fan. I cant write anymore.....
I don't know where you live, but in the Houston area Bob Allen of Channel 2 always interviews Kubiak after each game and those interviews remind of the Ed Peterson shows during the Oiler era--humorous in a very "dark" way.
Channel 13, not 2. Anybody not hopping on the fire Kubiak bandwagon after that is nuts. That one absolutely gets pinned on the head coach. Chris Brown is like Ron Dayne in his days as a Texan- the Texans are the only reason he is still playing in the NFL. The guy is as slow footed as they come. The fact that we handed him the ball twice on 3rd and 5+ and attempted to have him throw the ball is baffling.
Thing is if Brown doesnt get hit he had the TE wide open. Hit as he threw and it got picked off. They got what they wanted downfield, too bad it got flubbed up in the backfield. Granted, I wouldn't have called that play in that situation, and think it's too risky a play down there. But it's another bullet in the gun to get rid of Kubiak. Just a poor decision that had the worst possible outcome(well not worse, guess the INT could have been returned for a TD).
Maybe you've seen angles I haven't, but on my television there was not a single white jersey anywhere near where Brown put that ball.
Chris Brown is not LT or Ronnie Brown. He is nowhere near athletic enough to try to pull that off. No excuse for that playcall in that situation.
