whats the point of the tarps?! To make it look different so the seats aren't visibly vacant?

Yep, pretty much. It looks better than a bunch of empty seats.

I still don't understand. Do they actually cover up seats or not? ;)

Seriously, I don't think J-ville fans have any room to be talking trash to any other NFL city. They probably won't even have a team in 5 years. At least the Oilers left due to our stupid mayor/owner and not because of a lack of support from the fans.

Fans weren't much help in the end. Do you remember the pep rally they attempted at City Hall? I think something like 15 people showed up.

    [opens can of worms]

That thing was put together at the very last minute and was scheduled for 10am on a Wednesday morning. It was put together in that fashion to try to make the rest of the country think we didn't care about the Oilers leaving.

Do you remember the sold out Astrodome for the game against the Steelers even AFTER Bud announced he was moving the team the next year?

    [closes can of worms]

lol; I'm afraid the can doesn't close that easily. Let's brace for the coming firestorm: Bud-haters vs. Mayor-haters. :D

I personally didn't care that they left. Even with the drafting of McNair and George, I didn't see a good direction. Suppose I was wrong since they went to the Super Bowl not long after leaving. I'm happier with the current situation.

I did care when they left. I felt like we were on the brink something nice and it turned out that we were.

What I didn't care for was the blackouts that we had. It seems the Jaguars are in that boat now.

Agreed. Time to teach those F**KHEADS once and for all a thing called respect. The reason why the Jags get no love is according to Berman of ESPN, "they are a yeah but, team. They beat Pitt but, lose to an inferior opponent." "You never know what to expect with them."

They want respect, etc. but, respect is earned and since their owner and management CLEARLY dropped the ball with an opportunity to heist Culpepper and for once not since Brunell days, have a REAL QB I don't consider them a serious contender. Their D is very respectable and keeps them in games but, at the end of the day if you get a lead on them especially early on, they're like the baby elephant who grew up and after early failures to break the line to the tree, no longer try even though the elephant is full grown.

The Jags aren't built for comebacks. So get an early lead on them and then beat them at their own game. Keep their D out for 35 to 40 minutes on the field and eventually they start to break down.

I hope the Texan brass gets wind of their arrogance. Would love to just pound these F-KHEADS into submission after hearing this.

They don't respect us, huh? Kick their F-N Asses, Texans!

Say it with me Texan Nation, ...

Kick their ASS ... Kick their ASS ... Kick their ASS !!!

Some heads are gonna roll on Sunday! :D

It also serves to reduce the official capacity of their third-rate, woefully out-of-date stadium which they needed to do to avoid the blackouts which; based upon the blackout of the Texans game, would indicate that this is yet another aspect of running a viable NFL football team at which they, as an organization, have failed miserably.

In the interest of full disclosure, HPF staffer Jimmy Mohr first declared that Jacksonville is Houston's b****. I'm just trying to keep the truth out there.

Uh, Garrard is better than Culpepper and well above average.
