not according to one of the jacksonville sports writers that was on 790 this morning.... the dude straight up said that not only do the jaguars not consider them (the Texans) a rival, but that the only reason the jags have struggled with us recently is because they've always been caught looking towards the next week.... guy had about zero respect for the the Texans, and he wasn't hiding it. Craig Roberts even asked him how he felt about the rumors circulating that the jags may move to LA and the only thing out of this guy's mouth was "look, yall wouldn't even have a team if LA hadn't royally dropped the ball." i mean, ZERO respect. here's to kicking the **** out of them.
So I decided to read this thread right before going to bed...and now Im effing pissed. Im gonna roll around in bed for an hour before falling asleep. Possibly punch my pillow a few times.
What is it about Florida sports radio douches? Back in 95, the 950 sports show had the Orlando sports guys on to talk about the upcoming series with the Magic and they were total idiots. Going on and on about such fresh topics as how people in Houston ride horses to work, have tumbleweeds in their yards, etc. The 950 guys ended up hanging up on them. Let's hope the Texans do the same thing to them the Rockets did that year...
maybe the Texans do think its more of a rivalry then they do, but that reporter is still delusional. Hope Texans crush them now after seeing that
" I don't know why they wear red everytime they p lay us. I guess it's like homecoming to them" -some jaguar player that i can't remember -
Grrr... After that comment I really hope we win this game. Jacksonville is a solid team, but I think we can pull it off if the defense comes out and plays hard to start the game. Having Ahman back will certainly help out our run game. We have to stop leaving points on the field in 3rd and goal situations. God, I hope we win this game.
Damn, I wish I had heard that. Now I'm gonna be pissed off all day at work. I have a hard time as it is getting through the work week on weeks when we have a big game coming up. Now the next 4 days are gonna take FOREVER. As for that Jag-off d-bag, saying that if your team lost once or twice I guess would be valid....but 6 TIMES?!? Jacksonville has got to be the least deserving city in the country to have an NFL team....the place is a complete sh!thole, and I hope this Sunday the Texans do their part in putting the Jagoffs one step closer to moving. Oh, and as for that player saying that us wearing red is like homecoming....THEY ARE HAVING A TEAL-OUT THIS SUNDAY. TEAL. WHAT THE HELL....I honestly think Liberace could have designed better uniforms than the douchenozzle they hired.
Courtesy of Houston Pro Football's Keith Weiland: "Rivals? Okay, Jack, maybe not. Maybe the Texans are just some "division opponent," as you suggest. But when the Texans beat the Jaguars four times out of six in their brief three-year existence, it has no business being your rival. Maybe you don't know, Jack, but three of those past four Jaguar losses suffered to the Texans came on your watch, to a team that should be far less talented than yours. And you should be careful to hang your smug face on that lonely little win. It came when the Jaguars needed to defeat a Texans team fielding a rookie third stinger under center and a rookie tailback behind him. So, maybe you do know, Jack, that "rival" isn’t the right word. How about "bully"? It sure seems like a more appropriate term than rival. And you don’t choose your bullies, Jack. They have a way of choosing you." You Don't Know, Jack The Texans then went on to shutout those teal douchebags at Reliant Stadium East all but ending their 2004 playoff hopes. They do it every year as if the entire world already doesn't know. I've been saying it for years, Jacksonville isn't Houston's rival. Jacksonville is Houston's b****.
LOL!!! The game is blacked out in Jax. http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/101107/jag_207363923.shtml
They've been doing that for a couple of years . . . http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/09/26/AR2006092601629.html
