In 2007 did we have anything to look forward to? Were there any expectations? Situation is quite a bit different in 2013.
You could make the argument that this team is worse than the 2007 team. Cause they certainly are recordwise. So far, the W/L record of Keenum's opponents is better than Schaub's as well. Of course the situations are different (Keenum, for example, was thrust into this position midseason after a year on practice squad... while Schaub was groomed and had an entire offseason to prep). Expectations or not, if you weren't ready to toss Schaub overboard after year 1, you shouldn't be ready to toss Keenum aside right now either. Lest ye be a hippy crit.
I'm ready to give up on Keenum now because he isn't the guy. He was never going to be the guy. We have an opportunity to draft the best quarterback in the draft this year. That gives me much more confidence than Keenum. Do you honestly want Keenum to be the Houston Texans' starting quarterback? I don't care about what Schaub did in his first 7 games. I just want the Texans to win, and Keenum has shown essentially zero tools that make me believe that he can lead us to a Super Bowl win.

"I understand the business side of the game" has become an overused saying, and I'm not sure most of the athletes even know what they mean when they say it. Firing Kubiak has nothing to do with "the business side". Mr. Mcnair's bottom line is doing just fine. He was fired because he's a terrible football coach and our team is 2-11. It's "the football side".
