David Carr, Jeff George, Baker Mayfield, Sam Bradford, JaMarcus Russelll, Tim Couch, etc.....all #1 overall picks.....FAILED.
It's really hard to sit here and see you people arguing about draft position, all while your current team, sure an overmatched team versus a great opponent, really puts it all on the line for you today. They're only playing for two things: their Texans' pride and their Texans' fans. But you all can't be bothered.
Glad you're not the GM. Hilarious seeing fans explaining that 500 lottery tickets gives you more of a chance to win than 24. A defensive end does notove the needle. Did JJ Watt ever move the needle? No, but the fans loved him. Quarterback is the most important position in sports. Find the quarterback you want, and get him. If it's not with the number one pick, so be it. But it's definitely much better to suffer through a disaster of a season and have the number one pick that to win an extra game or two and wish you could have drafted player x, and then watch them go on to a half of fame career. Not saying that's going to happen, or is a guarantee, but to say that there is no difference between pick one and pick 4 is buffoonery.
Like our GM is great. Our offensive line sucks, our defense is setting all the wrong records, our wide receivers can't shake off defenders, and we have a fumbling running back.
You missed an opportunity there. "And our fumbling running back is by far the best player on the team."
That statement wasn't a defense of the GM. Whoever has been responsible for the last two head coaching hires should be fired yesterday. Those issues could very well be coaching, by the way. Whoever has been responsible for the last two drafts is the hero of the team, if there is one.
