Texans against the run: . They're allowing 4.4 Yds per attempt for a total 466 yards, league average is 4.2. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2023/opp.htm They've yet to allow a 100 rusher through 4 games. Last year, Taylor and Herbert ran for 150+ yards each in the first 4 games and the trend would continue throughout the season, the 100+ game by an individual running back. If you take away the freaks, Jackson and Richardson, that 4.4 average drops to 3.95 per carry for a total of 380 yards from running backs (less if you take away Lawrence and Pickets' 12+ yrd runs) With the line finally getting healthy, Texans will be able to match the opposition's running game to completely nullify their gains. TLDR, Texans run defense isn't as bad as the narrative is saying. Be more worried about their screen game. Yeay almost 24 hours til game time!!! Eat those Ws .
Hopefully we aren't plague with false starts from our starting oline players. We were quite undisciplined the last few seasons. Felt like tunsil committed one every game
I hope so too, but he will definitely help us out. He came out at the top last year in a couple categories. Best overall: Houston’s Laremy Tunsil led the way with an elite 91.7 pass-blocking grade after surrendering just one sack, three hits and 13 hurries across 639 pass-blocking snaps last season. • Best on third and fourth down: Tunsil was the only tackle in the league who earned a 90.0-plus PFF grade on third and fourth downs, as he allowed just seven pressures on 197 pass-blocking snaps.
Going to be interesting to see Tytus Howard at LG. Fant has been holding his ground at RT. Patterson has been doing a good job at C. I'm curious on what Demeco is going to do when Scruggs is available to play.
Scruggs should work out at LG (Patterson should really be the one moving to LG), and Howard goes back to his natural position at RT. Fant has been okay, but Howard is much better than him at RT.
Anyways, I hope to see another Texans win tomorrow and CJ showing again he's the one. Bring some positive will and energy to the Astros game that night.
Texans in 4(qtrs) These out of division road games are always tricky for most part, I feel the defense will carry over and the offense will do enough to get the W But it would be great to see the offense put up another 30 piece
I put a 13 leg parlay down on the game at the local casino we were visiting tonight. $5 would net me $7k. Fat chance, but it'll be fun.
Just continue week to week progress on all fronts. Go Texans. You pulled be back from indifference to outright hostility.
I hate that my internal clock wakes me up at 4 am. I miss the days of waking up 5 mins before kickoff.
