Don't forget the difference the D made or would have made had we not had 2 TOs in the second half. First half Indy is 7 of 8 on 3rd down and in the second half they converted but one in their many attempts? Got some actual pressure on Peyton and forced him to move around. That game in Indy may be our redemption call. We've never won there but, I'm sure with the great likelihood we will be all healed up save for McKinney and Killings, the Texans will have week 3 on their minds. Wouldn't that be a story? Last year, we finally beat them. This year we put the hammer on them in Indy. :D

Schaub looking for big game against former team

    By Scouts Inc

    Why To Watch
The Texans are playing good football right now and the Falcons are starting to play better both offensively and defensively. The Texans offense, led by QB Matt Schaub, is just getting warmed up and 10 different players caught passes from Schaub last Sunday when, using a great game plan by offensive coordinator Mike Sherman, the Texans despite missing star WR Andre Johnson gave the Colts all they could handle. Think Schaub will want to prove something to the team that traded him? Atlanta QB Joey Harrington had a good outing against Carolina last Sunday and if he continues to play at that high level, the Falcons will have a greater chance of beating the Texans. Head coach Bobby Petrino has to be encouraged about Harrington's performance and his decision making. Harrington got the ball to eight different Atlanta players and didn't key in on just one receiver as he's done in the past. The Texans are looking to make a run at the playoffs and the Falcons are looking for their first win.

When the Texans have the ball
Rushing: The Texans have a problem on their hands without running backs Ahman Green and Ron Dayne. Green left the Colts game with a knee injury and Dayne didn't play at all. Backup RB Samkon Gado and Jameel Cook are not enough to take on the Atlanta front seven or their defensive line for that matter. Plus, Texans center Steve McKinney is out for the season and that will hurt the chances of Houston establishing a run game. Offensive coordinator Mike Sherman will have to come up with a plan to run the ball effectively with the personnel he has now and that will not be an easy thing to do. The Falcons defensive line has been playing well and DE John Abraham has been unblockable. Although the linebackers have been average lately, the advantage here goes to the Falcons due to the lack of healthy running backs in Houston.

Passing: Credit Schaub for spreading the ball out as effectively as he did in with Johnson hurt. He may have a bigger task ahead of him this week with all the injured running backs on the team. Expect Schaub to have a big game against his former team for that reason alone. He will keep looking for TE Owen Daniels and WR Andre Davis to make plays and stretch the field against the Falcons secondary. Atlanta's pass defense is talented but undisciplined. Corner DeAngelo Hall may have cost the Falcons a win last weekend against Carolina due to an unsportsmanlike penalty. Safeties Lawyer Milloy and Chris Crocker have been inconsistent at times. The best weapon the Falcons have on the pass defense is Abraham and DE Jamaal Anderson. There may not be a player on the field who can touch Abraham on Sunday and he has to be accounted for by at least two Texans.

When the Falcons have the ball
Rushing: There are flashes of a solid run game in Atlanta. Running backs Warrick Dunn and Jerious Norwood can be a solid one-two punch with enough attempts and production of course. The run game is important for Atlanta against the Texans in order to control the time of possession and dictating the tempo of the game. The Falcons running backs are healthier than Houston's and the team that has success running the ball may come out as the winner on Sunday. The Texans have done well against the run so far this year. ILB DeMeco Ryans and OLB Morlon Greenwood have racked up a lot of tackles against the run and the Houston secondary also gets involved in run fits and swarming to the football. DE Mario Williams has improved on setting the edge against outside run plays and doesn't peek inside as much as he did his rookie year in 2006.

Passing: Harrington had a great day against the Panthers last weekend and he needs to keep having days like that for the Falcons to be successful. Consistency has been the question throughout Harrington's career so far, though. If he can keep making the proper reads and check downs this week against Houston like he did last Sunday, the Falcons will be hard to stop offensively. Harrington must keep TE Alge Crumpler in his sights along with WR Roddy White. To the credit of Atlanta's receivers, there weren't many balls dropped last weekend and the same needs to happen against the Texans. It's hard for any defense to keep QB Peyton Manning's stats in check on any Sunday but the Houston secondary did a solid job of taking away the big plays against the Colts. Look for Houston to try and do the same thing in keeping the big plays to a minimum. Also expect them to do a better job of accounting for Crumpler due to the production of Indianapolis TE Dallas Clark.

    Special Teams

The Texans' Jerome Mathis is a big weapon on kickoff return that the Falcons must account for and possibly kick away from on Sunday. Mathis took one to the house against the Colts on the opening kickoff and is capable of changing field position in Houston's favor every time he touches the ball. The Atlanta coverage units are disciplined and play with intensity. That should be a fun matchup to watch. The Falcons have brought back kicker Morten Andersen for field goal duties for consistency. Atlanta's personnel are out-matched by Houston and the Texans will have an edge on special teams.

You're just mad because I said the Texans might lose this game, sorry but not every poster who posts in this thread has to predict the Texans will win.

And by the way, I did pick the Texans to win the first two games. Quit your b****ing.

I think the defense gets some of its swagger back.

    Houston - 24

This is absolutely a trap game.

    Texans lose 24 - 17.

    Just ask DC.
