It was still a bad toss by Schaub.

I told you guys to relax, that 2 - 0 doesn't mean anything. But, NO, you guys were saying the Texans are so good this year and going to the playoffs.

Hope you guys got your wakeup call.

Just be appreciative that the Texans have turned the corner, and next year's team will be strong contenders to finally make the playoffs.

Yeah, it's time to start looking to next year.

After all, no team has ever recovered from a 2-2 start...

defense needs to stop giving up over 20 points a game. with a full strength offense, we would ahve outscored the Falcons though.

it was a winnable game. but injuries are just ****ing us in the ass right now.

So you admit that the Texans have turned the corner but we're not allowed to get excited about it? The Texans 2-0 start, 4 wins in a row (including last season), and the difference of play on both sides of the ball, were something to be excited about.

Just like you told us to relax, I'm gonna tell you to relax since our 2 losses have come without the likes of Andre Johnson, Ahman Green, Jacoby Jones, Jerome Mathis, and Steve McKinney. Not sure how many teams can lose that much and win games.

puh-lease...it's not like they lost their pro bowl receiver, best running back, best punt returner, best kick returner, and their best offensive lineman at the same time.

Defense didn't play well yesterday, BUT.... they DID get it together during halftime and only allowed 6 points in the 2nd half. They would have benefitted from a running game, which we didn't have yesterday.

    Playcalling sucked

    Time management sucked

Have no idea where Gado was

Something has to be done about Faggins.

I think that the Steve McKinney injury is going to hurt us the most this year. After yesterday game it seems that the team is scared to run in the middle now. 3rd and goal from the half yard line and you run a sweep? The mulitple plays on 3rd on one yard or less and the line got stuffed in the middle. The Texans were 4-0 with Steve McKinney as the starter and have not run for poo since! And Faggans you are now dead to me as a corner. Please start the rookie!

to me it looked like the texans didnt come out with the same fire as the other games. it almost looked like they took it easy against an 0-3 team, and once the game started going the other way, falcons gained confidence to go along with the hunger for a 1st win, it was hard to get the game back. i would think the texans would know better than anyone taking games off against "bad" teams... i hope that wasnt the case but thats what it looked like in the 1st half.

I think something was done about Faggins. I think he'll be the nickel if anything next week...though I do think both of the calls against him were terrible.

I can't understand why Gado wasn't used, either. It makes no sense not to get a change of pace in there.

Time management by the officials was worse. On the play at the goal line where Atlanta called timeout, they never added the time back on the clock. 14 seconds were run off and no one noticed. This was a very poorly officiated game for both sides. The "chop block" that was called on Dunn was terrible.

The Texans played & coached poorly. The defense was soft on the coverage. When it's 3rd & 4, why do they drop 10 yards? Schaub played fairly well, but made some bad decisions. It could be argued that the td pass to Davis was a bad throw. The pass across his body to the middle of the end zone was Carr-like.

they can play better and I expect they will this week against Miami. They need to come out and dominate that game from the beginning.

Watching that game, I wasn't thinking that injuries doomed us. It handcuffed our offense, but we lost because our defense played like horses**t. Seemed like an obvious example of a team getting up and focused to play the champs last week and coming out with not even half the effort and focus against some losers. Playoff teams don't do that. You have to come to play all 16 games. Defense didn't take the Falcons seriously and embarrassed themselves. Our secondary has been below average all year, but yesterday even the front line looked unready. Inexcusable.

In his defense, a lot of people took 2-0 and ran away talking up playoffs. Talking 10 wins. Plenty of posters got carried away, and yeah, this was a wake up call. Our secondary is less than competent and looking back, our first two opponents aren't the playoff teams we thought they were at the time.

We can still be pleased with the steps forward, but maybe roll back those expectations to 8-8 with a lofty hope for 9-7.

Nickel coverage might be a good idea. Dunta is the only coverage man out there that can really hold his own. May want to ask more of the D-line and Ryans to hold down the run on their own and put one extra back out to help with coverage. I doubt Smith will go that route - he seems to be stubborn with his schemes.

Agreed. And alot of that is on the coach. Don't get me wrong, I like Kubiak. But I gotta call it like I see it.

I still think we're making the playoffs *this* year. Ten wins is still a possibility, although 9 looks more realistic.

Some may not want to admit it, but the injuries really did kill us the last two games. You can't win in the NFL with Ron Dayne as your starting RB. He's too slow and inflexible to make plays. Our consistent inability to get 3 rushing yards in the red zone and score on two first-and-goals is proof of this. If we had Ahman Green in there, we're talking a W.

Not having your two best wide receivers makes the situation even worse. Hopefully Johnson and Green will be back for next week's game.

*About Faggins ... yeah, I think I might pop a nerve if he isn't benched by next Sunday.

faggins is just getting picked on out there. I say throw out the rookie bennett and give him some baptism by fire to see how he handles it.

Seriously, he can't be much worse. Everytime there's a huge penalty, Faggins is the culprit. Everytime someone gets burned badly, it's Faggins. Almost makes you wish Buchanon was still around. Almost. At least put the rookie out there -- if anything he'll be slightly less pathetic.

I am not going to attempt to blame Schaub for one second as far as this game was concerned. When was the last time you saw a Houston QB throw for 300 yards with a 70% completion percentage?

At least Bennett might learn from his mistakes! Faggins has shown no progress in his coverage. Didnt Faggins get 2 penalties on the same play yesterday? I am really hoping that New England wins the Super bowl this year so that they will not franchise Samuels and the Texans can sign him!

    Spin it however you want.

The Texans, I repeat the Texans, will not make the playoffs this year.

BUT, with key free agent signings and draft picks next offseason, WILL make the playoffs.

Oh please, ok you are a homer at heart.

It ok to get excited, but don't go overboard and think the Texans will make the playoffs this year.

But, hey, do whatever you want. I don't care.
