Wow joke of a post? Since when is below average having a qb rating above 90 and on pace to throw for 4,000 yards in consecutive seasons.
When they have no running game. And when they have a guy like Andre. Hell David Carr threw for 3500 yards and only averaged .6 yards less per attempt.
Food for thought... jharrisfootball Texans under Schaub are 4-13 against playoff teams. I'll leave it at that.
When there is no running game, wouldnt the defense be focusing on him exclusively? but look who I am talking to, the guy that wants to KEEP Kubiak
Who the hell thinks Shaub is an elite QB? He's an okay QB that you can win with given a good team around him. Brees, Manning's, Brady's, and Rivers do not grow on trees. And he is WAY better then Carr was.
I'm sad that the dual-momentum waves of the Eagles loss and Texans statement win didn't translate in a short week, but I'm not going to call for heads after a loss that I fully expected since the schedule was released. Short week, on the road at night in a hostile stadium against a team that is plainly better than us. We took a lead in the 2nd half, and had a chance until the fumble with 3 mins left. They didn't play that bad. More important now to take advantage of the mini-bye before hosting the Ravens on MNF. All that said, I do put this one on Schaub if I'm looking at any one person. Ugh. He has clutch drives and comebacks, and he also has stinkers like this one or his late pick against the Cards last year. He's good, but the receiving corps (last year) made the passing game great. He's good (average is really selling him short), but he's not perfect. The defense is what it is. Subpar starters, missing Ryans, Mario AWOL, foolishly not busting out the credit card for Schobel in August, not having the grit to bounce a nepotism hire coaching the secondary. The issue, especially tonight, is not about the offense failing to step up, it's about the offense ****ting the bed at the worst times. It's tough to believe, but this offense is a lot better than 24 points, whether tonight or as an average. They should be a nightmare for any team to face with Foster added to last year's air attack. They absolutely should be a top 3 offense averaging 28+ ppg like NE, SD, and Philly. For whatever reason, Kubiak has not been able to combine the running attack with the passing to let one feed off of the other. For whatever reason, Schaub has not been as reliable as he was for most of last year. It is what it is. Slight underachievement on offense, and an unsalvageable wreck on D.
So in his best year ever he had good numbers (top 7 Rating, top 5 TD's)on a non playoff team. This year he is middle of the pack or worse on those stats. the two years previous he missed almost a third of the season.
Damn. Fun game to watch till the last 2 min. Our offense was ROLLING there in the 3rd, that was fun to watch. Sucks....another L.
Obviously defense is the major issue. But I think they drastically overrated their recieving corps. Walter/Jacoby/Anderson etc are all not starting calibar recievers for most NFL teams. If they would have acquired a 2nd wr whether it would have been Dez,Boldin,TO etc it would have done wonders for this offense. It is just to inconsistent. *obviously Andre is not overrated* And did Owen Daniels have a season ending injury that I missed? I dont think ive seen him in 2 months?
I agree, none of them can get open, ever. that is hurting the team. I would love to Have Owens or Dex here now
Owen has a hamstring injury if I recall correctly. They say he should be ready for next weeks MNF game against Baltimore but take that fwiw.
