Who the hell are Scouts inc? doesn't matter because 1 out 8 rankings doesn't seem like enough to convince me.
I realize teams have different ratings, but we weren't talking about individual team ratings on players. We were talking about mock draft boards, and who was ranked higher on them. The correct answer is that Wilson was ranked higher.
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/football/news/story?id=2105483 Did you flip out when the Texans selected Duane Brown and Brian Cushing, too?
I would love to address our secondary again in the second round, and like I said before, take someone like a Chad Jones to pair with Pollard. If we could finally fix our secondary, this deep draft is the one to do it in. We do not need a running back in the second round. This draft is deep at the running back position, and we can find many that fit our blocking scheme, in the fourth or fifth round. James Starks, from the University of Buffalo is a perfect fourth or fifth round candidate that would pair well with a Slaton or Moats, and fits our scheme well.
I mentioned this in another thread, but I think Ben Tate looks like he'd fit the Texans' scheme really well.
I agree...I want us to go FS/DT/RB in the 2nd and 3rd rounds in that order based on BPA. A free safety in the second followed by Gerhert magically falling to us in the third round would be a more than solid boost for us next season, right off the bat here in these first few rounds
Ah I see. I don't know know a thing about Dwyer but Gerhart sounds like a solid pick from what I've read.
Some players still available that were supposed to be first round picks... Bruce Campbell Taylor Mays Brian Price Terrence Cody I'd want to go DT if Price is available at our pick...I would have been open to taking him or Cody in the first.
Brian Price and Ben Tate are guys i'd like to have. Especially Price a guy who was expected to go in the first. I also like the Poster above just have a feeling about Tate. I think he has a lot of talent and a good mix of power and speed and he hits the holes.
Matthews was rated pretty closely with Cushing and while he didn't haven't the year Cushing had, Matthews had a pretty decent year with 10 sacks. The Texans/Smith have faired pretty well with their draft picks the past couple years so I'm gonna try to respect the pick. But this was a pretty surprising pick IMO.
I'm not going to complain about a pick until I see what he does as a pro. You never know how any of these guys are going to do until they start playing at the pro level. The Texans picked a player for a position they need help with, and that's good enough for me at this time. I do like the fact that this guy is coming from a big time program.
I like the KJ pick a lot. There are a lot of good big, strong running backs in the draft and I don't think Ryan Matthews is that much better than the rest of the group. Jonathan Dwyer, Anthony Dixon, Toby Gerhart, Ben Tate, Charles Scott, Montario Hardesty, Lonyae Miller, James Starks, and LeGarrette Blount are still available and you could draft them to complement Steve Slaton, Arian Foster, and Jeremiah Johnson.
I was just as surprised when we picked Mario over Bush... thank goodness they did that. Just gotta wait and see
I wanna puke out of fear. I'm freaking sick to my stomach that both the Titans and Colts got what I think are the two best pass rushers in the draft.
