Or it could mean they didn't see much difference between Bridgewater and Carr, and didn't see the need to give up something to get one when they had them ranked the same.
I think also . .. someone pointed out . . .. if Carr is the one taking him at 33 instead of 32 means that he is out of his rookie contract sooner So Even if you win . . .you kind of lose Rocket River
I liked Bridgewater, but aside from that, he was the last guy on the board that I thought had a chance to do anything in the league. I don't know if he would, but IMO, I don't think any of the QBs left on the board are going to have any success. If the Texans just didn't draft a QB, I'd be totally OK with it because whoever it is, I don't think they're going to pan out.
There's no desperation with me. The head coach has stated many times that we'll leave the draft with a young guy. So that means we get stuck with a lower tier prospect at QB or Ryan Mallet. I'd rather trade out of 33 or just go ahead and pick out of Stephon Tuitt or Louis Nix.
Excellent post and that was exactly what i was thinking, but at the same time i don't think Texans were looking at QB at 2.1 like everyone was making out to be and there most likely wont' be a QB at that position tomorrow as well. Its tough to see who will texans pick, but i don't think it will be Carr, Nix (Bad Knees), or Hageman (not ready yet).
Would've enjoyed having either Manziel or Bridgewater along with Clowney in the 1st but I'll live with that not happening, for now. The real test comes now in the rest of rounds to find talent that will actually equate to helping our team. Based on past results for drafts that hasn't been quite successful, will front office finally get some players?
That's a p***y way of drafting. "I like both guys so you pick who you want and I'll take what's left over." That's BS. I don't think teams operate that way and would be disappointed if they did. Players are not created equal. One will be better than the other. As a talent evaluator, you rank your prospects and trust in your own evaluations. If you have one guy ahead of another then you have him there for a reason, because you think he'll be the better player. And if you think one player will be better than the other, you don't passively allow another team have have first pick. And if they didn't think one player would be better than the other then they're not doing a good job of evaluating and ranking players.
Besides Clowney what am I most happiest about, Watkins, Mack, and Manziel will not be in our division

I don't think you need to pick an OT in the 2nd to fix RT. Hell, we may already have our RT on roster. If we're picking positions, we absolutely don't have a starting NT on roster and we still have our pick of the litter if we choose to go that route.
