I think it's safe to say that your post wasn't taken too well. Since I know that invites a "they're all homers" reaction, let me comb through and point out why folks aren't taking a shine to your two cents.

This reads as if you feel our afternoon game is against an elite team, a prime time matchup, or the Super Bowl. The Dolphins have been a mediocre team vying for third in their division for the past decade.

You're welcome to that opinion, but he's been a top-10 QB by all measures the past 3 years. "Average" is considered to be more along the lines of Kyle Orton or Joe Flacco.

Please do. Because otherwise it reads as if you are unaware that the Colts have a horrible offensive line, no running game, and a ineffective defense.

Once again, this hints to others that you don't understand football too well. Texans did have two ghastly turnovers, but they coasted the rest of the way. Colts went into hurry up mode and still failed to make a run. How exactly did Gary get outcoached and what adjustments did you see?

I don't think anyone was celebrating in the streets over the preseason. That would be the annual tradition of Redskins fans.

What "terrible record" would get them into the playoffs? 6-10? 7-9? 8-8?

Jags, Titans, and Colts may be in down years, but at least one or two of them will hover around 0.500, so you'll still need 9 or 10 wins to take the division.

As opposed to the smart and timely INTs?

Fun trivia, Schaub has a 2.7% INT rate....tying him with Drew Brees and Peyton Manning.

It's a fair statement...but should the Texans make the playoffs for the first time in franchise history, there's simply no way you toss Kubiak and Wade out and hit a reset button. The players themselves would have a fit and you'd honestly set the team back with a new scheme. Andre's only got so many years left....

They've only played one single game....and several of us (including myself) refer to it as a 5th preseason game. You are correct - the D hasn't been tested yet....but why dismiss all positives because we haven't seen a real game yet and still figure you can declare the defense to be bad?

5 Preseason games or no, Watt is a force of nature on the line. The secondary is at worst competent. The defense is able to disrupt the offense more than we've seen.....ever?

No one considers them to be on the level of the Ravens, but they aren't a horror show and should hold their own.

Didn't Wade help identify and bring in the new players? Even at full strength, the Bush defenses were flat and passive. There's already a new culture and vibe from this crew, and Wade has to be given at least some credit for that.

    * fine
^ so you do agree that we don't suck...and isn't the point of winning to get wins?
    # strange that you feel we are lesser than the Bucs and Fins, but better than Falcons
~ are you aware that Brees is without Colston and Moore right now? That their defense looked a whole lot worse than Atlanta's?

You really come across as jaded and fairly uninformed and not insightful. Maybe that's not the case...but it sure seems like it.

I was as mad as everyone else when they didn't clean house last year. When Wade was brought in without a real search for the best candidates. But I won't be closed minded. They went after this offseason like they've literally never done before. They are poised to make a real leap forward. I'm not going to scuff my feet and whine about Schaub not being a top 3 QB when we could be saddled with losers like Cutler or Eli. I'm not going to kick kittens because the defense is only promising after being historically awful last year.

It hasn't been fun in the Houston Sports scene of late. But there's no sense in going doomsday.

I'm not worried about him running.

    I'm worried about him catching.

when he was with the saints he caught a lot of passes for very little yardage. i know the texans pass defense still really hasn't been tested, but i wouldn't worry about bush

He's still abysmal in his decision making and can't punch through anyone....but this scheme is vulnerable to quick screens and creates the open spaces in the flats that Bush needs. He's still a fairly elusive back when he has room to operate, and it'll be on our safeties to take care of him if he springs outside. (ILBs will be relatively easy to wall inside)

Agreed. Big receiving games for him are rare. He may get 40-50 yards receiving but nothing gamebreaking.

Well I'm putting him in as starter on my fantasy football team...I think this is the week they try and establish a running game...Couldnt against the Patriots because of fear of getting blown out

94 combined yards Monday, about 80 of which were in the first half before Miami abandoned their game plan and went into desperate Fling It mode.

I don't think Bush is that great....but he, Fasano, and Bess are guys we need to be aware of. Overlooking opponents with false confidence is a dangerous thing to do.

No one's worried about him going between the tackles...but he's a guy that lives to bounce outside, and Wade's 3-4 / 5-2 hybrid scheme leaves big soft spots in the flats if a team takes advantage.

The only value Reggie Bush has is as a returner and a trick play/3rd down back. It's like forcing Josh Cribbs or Devin Hester to play RB.

He is a good fantasy option though in PPR leagues ... he had 9 freaking catches last week and got me 20 points while doing little to nothing for the Dolphins offense.

don't know why people are so worried about Bush. he's not a game breaker. the comparison to gale sayers were/are ridiculous. there's a reason the Saints let him go.

They're racist!!! The stereotype that any black Heisman trophy winner playing RB should be Barry Sanders...They wouldnt have cut him if he were white...If Toby Gerhart had won the Heisman and been drafted by New Orleans , then he would have had all kinds of chances to succeed.........Im sorry yall, I cant even type this without a straight-face!!!LMAO :grin::grin:

    http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolp...lphins-agenda-get-well-and-on-to-houston.html

Daniel Thomas expected to be a go Sunday. He underwhelmed in the preseason, but may (MAY) do well enough as a between the tackles runner to compliment/free up Bush to be a scatback.

In better news, Clemons (S), McDaniel (DE) and Jason Taylor are all questionable. That's leaving out DBs Carroll and Davis, who both were cramping badly Monday night - those things can linger a little in a short week.

Exactly why we need to come out in the 1st quarter and throw it all over the field, if we can get something along the lines of 75% quick passing plays and put up 2 tds or td and fg in the first, we'll have them reeling. Then hit them with our powerful running game.

LOL at the bozo who wrote the novel above saying Schaub can't win the big one. It's week 2 playing a mediocre football team. Dudes gotta be trolling. I think we have another OHMMS posting
