sorry but when your up 27 nothing its usually considered a blow out. look at the patriots game today. they were up 28-0 similiar to the texans 27-3 and they finished the game 35-7 while the texans finished 27-20 with some calls going our way. a win is not a win when it further proves that something is seriously wrong with our coaching
I think some folx were probably laughing at the titans letting this team come back on them last week . . and needed a Overtime to beat them Miami is a good team. I think they maybe looking at their coach with 'Kubiak' type glasses cause they came into this game unprepared they played half a ball game. . evidently for the second week [dunno if that is their season like ours] and they looking at 8-8 . . at best Rocket River
so you are complaining about a win? a team that just took tenn down to the wire on the road last week, a team that had a winning record up until last week, with the same guy starting at qb since early in the season, the texans got a quality win on the road to keep their season alive, relax
It's one thing if it's nit picking about different things that could have gone better. But when it's the same glaring flaw that rears its head in Every.Single.Game.... Every loss, save the Jets, happened because the offense couldn't put together even 3 quarters. We've gotten away with it in the wins, but are going to be pretenders if we don't take care of this. Last year it was red zone follies and turnovers. This year it's 2-quarters-only offense and run game issues.
a win is a win, and the texans are not the patriots i think the only people complaining about this win are the ones who wanted kubiak fired regardless. sorry, he may keep his job
You insist on labeling this as "complaining about a win" as if people are saying "shucks, I wanted 7-8 and a better draft pick". No one's saying that. People have concerns despite the win. People are concerned that if we play like this against the Pats, we won't get away with it. It cost us against the Jags, the Cards, the Colts, the Titans, etc. To say "we won, everything's fine" is silly. Everyone's happy we won, but we all want a win next week too. Playing only one half of football won't beat Tom Brady.
the texans have found multiple ways to mess off games. that's really not a defense but its not always the same issue, some of it is play calling, some of it is letting teams back in, some of it has been fumbling on the goal line, missing kicks, getting blown out in the beginning only to come up short. all that being said, if you can come out on top more times than not when your team is mediocre you've done a pretty good coaching job. the bottom line to me is gary has kept this team in play with two of his guards gone and his starting running back from last year having a terrible year. if this team has a running game they maybe a ten win franchise at least
So the Texans will lose the tiebreaker under all circumstances with Denver and Baltimore? I am guessing the Steelers will not matter as the Texans win a TB scenario with them, be it two way, three way, or 4 way.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Shuab over throw his recievers in the 2nd half on key 3rd downs??? Or is that Kubiak fault???
He may have overthrown them, but they were very tough sideline routes that had the wrong people running them in the first place. Anderson and Dreesen arent the guys you want on a route where you gotta drop it right in on the sideline. Those guys are interior receivers, or maybe on a slot out route..... Thats on the coaching. Wrong guy in the wrong position on the wrong playcall.
i hate to sound like an apologist (well i shouldn't be apologizing for a win) but i really think this guy is a good coach. and I don't think he is just a good coordinator, I think he is the complete package. he has remained calm through some heartbreakers, he has held this team together after a four game losing streak, he still has a chance to make the playoffs. i remember the caper years, that maybe a low standard but I don't think you get rid of a guy under these circumstances. it could be a lot worse. at the very least you let him play out his contract. I saw the same kind of griping with mack brown, and mack was a lot less "stable" after adversity in my opinion. this guy is solid, and btw, I still think he's a hell of a offensive coordinator.
That was the best route on the throws, and both throws to the guys on those plays it looked like he was pretty intent on that spot. Seemed pretty decisive on where to go with the ball. Sorry, the players should have not been assigned that route in the first place. Johnson, Walter, and even Jacoby perhaps can make that play. Owen Daniels might have been able to make it, but Dreesen isnt Daniels. I dont like the medium sideline to those players and in those situations. Its a high risk, high reward play, which you dont do on third down, especially third and short. Its a really nice play when the other team expects you to pass and is playing accordingly. Not so when they are more straight up.
Ok looking at all the big games next week... Important to the Texans - NE VS Htown Baltimore vs Oakland KC vs Denver Other important games - Philly vs Dallas I would assume Philly vs Dallas gets flexed into Sunday night but maybe the Pats/Texans get moved to 3pm???
I think that near INT that was dropped rattled him quite a bit. Wasn't going to give MIA any chances to pick it off again.
