That's a simplistic way of looking at things. The Texans play "bend but don't break" type defense and they are the best in the NFL at forcing turnovers, that's a real strength of the team. The fact that the O line was inconsistent and the run game didn't get going till the 2nd half isn't on the coach, it's a sign of good coaching that he managed to right the ship and get them back in the game. Don't confuse poor execution with poor coaching. Something as simple as Arian Foster running the wrong route leading to a pick rather than points could have been enough to make this game a win rather than a loss.

Stop? It's just getting started. Go check out the insecurity in the Parsons as a Maverick thread, where relevant topics like his Mom's weight are discussed, for proof.

    Im not.

BOB had a poor game, it's as simple as that.

And as far as execution, we couldnt stop the run, we couldnt stop the pass, and we couldnt pass...so basically, all we did was run, while Dallas was able to run, pass, and pass defend.

I agree that it is a simple way of thinking, but don't agree with the message. The Cowboys came in averaging over 28 points per game and we held them to 17 in regulation yet for some reason you say we couldn't stop the run or the pass....hmm.

Again, we didn't execute properly and the run game didn't get going till the 2nd half, that's not on the coach IMO, it's on the players. The game plan was working, it's that the execution wasn't there for half the game.

Wish they would call it more. Watt really never gets those calls

Yeah, if you just look at points scored as an indication of how successful an offense is, then you're the one making it simplistic.

Romo averaged 8 yards per attempt and Murray averaged 4.4 yards per rush. How is it that you figure we stopped the pass and the run? Just because we got our turnovers doesnt mean we were stopping their pass and run game.

Two of the Dallas turnovers happened in the red zone...after they drove the length of the field...and the other turnover came on a punt return, which has nothing to do with the Dallas offense or Texans defense.

It's okay to think that we matched up evenly with them bc you were claiming all over this board that Romo sucks, Murray sucks, the Cowboys suck, etc... But the fact of the matter is that they are currently a better team than we are. And that's okay.

Do you think it's just a coincidence that most of our forced turnovers happen in the red zone? The Texans use a bend don't break style of defense the goal is to prevent scoring, and they are doing a damn good job. If the Cowboys want to pat themselves on the back for moving the ball well till it mattered, let them.

Pretty sure they can just pat themselves on the back for winning. Your pregame antics here and elsewhere were over the top. Doubling down on them after your team lost is just embarrassing.

Im sure the coaches game plan is to bend but dont break.

How about if we just dont bend? Wouldnt that be the sign of a good defense? I'd prefer that one 100 times out of 100.

I don't think they have the defensive lineman nor linebackers to make this work but I see your point.

Texans lost because they do not have a quarterback. You can't put up 50 yards of offense and expect your defense to stay air-tight.

The Cowboys eeked it out but neither team should have much to be proud of.

I'm at least amused at how many Texan fans there were at the game after the pro-Cowboy Clutchfans were opposed to the very possibility. "It will end up being one section of fans" - good one. Nice job Houston fans.

As other people have pointed out - despite the Texans bringing a middle school offense to the game - two plays lost it:

That Romo-Dez pass (while Romo was getting freight-trained and Dez had Joseph's hand right in his grill) was downright ridiculous.
And the JJ Watt missed sack... still not sure what that was all about. Maybe Romo is just that good.

Never satisfied with losing but it seems like we played on par for what we are. Foster played tremendous, but look for him to play like garbage against the Colts. Its obvious we have no real faith in Fitz, but I guess thats a given. Still dont know why we dont do what Dallas did with Dez and just chuck one deep for AJ or Hopkins from time to time seeing as they both have tremendous hands.

What I took from this loss is that we are pretty even with Dallas (not really a good thing) but we could have easily had this game, and Im pretty sure we wouldve won had the game been in Houston. Romo is not very good on the road. Watt not getting holding calls isnt a terribly good excuse for anything. I can't even begin to imagine all the holding calls that are missed game in and game out. BOB has again proven how conservative he feels he needs to be with our QB and Oline situation the way they are. This season needs to be about improving game to game, keeping our core healthy and giving 100% effort each and every game. We are not going to make the playoffs so we need to seriously evaluate all positions and then knock it out of the park in the draft. Desperately need a safety (still) and another CB on D. On O we really need some Oline depth and probably a RB and TE. The QB situation is rough but hopefully with a guy like BOB we can improve that department before next season. Seriously think we just keep building the trenches on both sides of the ball, develop a stout defense and then have a game managing QB who can occasionally throw the deep ball. We have lots of holes, but this team is improved from last year and not in record only.

What the hell are you babbling about? The game played out pretty close to how I thought it would only the offense didn't really get going till the 2nd half.

You know what's the sign of a good defense? Giving up the 4th fewest points in the league. Asking for more is just greedy.

Isn't there enough conflict in the world to not have posters calling each other names? Can't we just all get along and have fun acting like we are sports experts. Since we don't get paid for it like the network nitwits (sorry), we should at least get along and enjoy ourselves. It's a game.

He's a damn good QB most of the time. He has what...one or two postseason appearances to show for it? One playoff win.

I mention this bc you started with stating that we lost bc we don't have a QB. The Cowboys have a QB and they had 3 points at halftime and ended up with 17 through regulation.

QB's aren't the end all in wins and losses. If they were, teams like the Packers, Pats, Saints and so on wouldn't have 2, 3 losses.

There is a reason why defense is measured by yards per game...where the Texans rank 26th in the NFL.

Believe me, no team plays the Texans and thinks, "our offense is ****ed".

Maybe when Clowney comes back, there will be a big difference...but as of now, we've made every QB not name EJ look like a top 10 QB.

And I dont even need to mention our run defense (which ranks 27th in ypa).

You can go ahead and rely on bending all the way to the redzone and not breaking...but the best defenses year in and year out rely on the "dont bend" technique.
