Foster was on par before he hurt his hamstring with a much worse offensive line. It really isn't so farfetched. Murray wouldn't be doing much with our O-Line. I am certain of that.
I'm not familiar enough with Murray to talk to his skills, but Foster has been working with a far worse offensive line and has been dealing with major injuries the past two years. Foster isn't glue factory worthy yet. He still has major skills in the passing game (probably top 3 in the NFL for RBs). But he has lost a step and is fighting an uphill battle now.
I'm just hoping Jason Garrett out thinks himself and decides to throw the ball 40 times in anticipation of the Texans trying to stop the run. If Romo has less than 30 attempts the texans are probably in trouble.
Murray lol, the guy has 4 good games behind what is unquestionably the best offensive line in the NFL after accomplishing little to nothing over his first several years and some you are acting like he is Barry Sanders. Let him prove it for a whole season before people start saying he is better than Arian.

Wrong, the Cowboys run D on PFF is 30th in the league. They have been fortunate much like the Texans in lucky TO's. It will be two bad teams battling it out on Sunday. If Fitz doesn't play well, than we will lose. Cowboys don't have a chance against Seattle next week. I am curious to see if the Texans will expose the Cowboys bad run D this week.
Regarding the discussion of RBs...it doesnt matter which one is better, but what is more important is that their OLine is better than ours. Edge goes to the Cowboys. This part isnt directed at you tmac, just a general post... Im not sure why there are so many posters here that are upset at Texans fans for thinking the Cowboys have an advantage in this game. Is it really that crazy of an opinion? Im rooting for the Texans just like everyone else and I want nothing more than to punch Jerry Jones in the face...but I can also see that we havent played good football this year, at least not nearly to our potential. We are playing on the road against a team that controls the clock almost better than anyone in the entire league. It's not that far fetched that we lose and nobody should be question someone's opinion of that. Just check out these predictions from around the NFL... The two guys from PFT picked the Cowboys to win. Pete Prisco from CBS predicts Dallas by 14. 7 out of the 8 writers at CBS are picking Dallas at -6.5 (meaning, they all think Dallas wins by a TD or more). All 12 analysts at ESPN are picking the Cowboys to win. 5 out of the 6 writers from SB Nation have the Cowboys winning. Vegas had an opening line of -5.5...and that has even shifted in Dallas's favor, meaning people are betting heavily on the Cowboys to not just win, but to cover. I will be screaming and yelling at my TV rooting for the Texans...my voice will be lost by the end of the game...Im not being pessimistic when I say that the Cowboys have an advantage in this game, Im just being realistic. That doesnt mean the Texans are doomed or that we will lose, but I wont be surprised if we dont come away with a victory...and I'll be sad on Monday if that happens.
Everything is dictated off the Offensive Line. There is a reason nobody sniffs RB's until the early 3rd round these days. I would much rather take a good OL player than a Heisman worthy RB. The Cowboys have been doing the right thing in the draft lately and finally it is paying off. I still think they are an 8-8 squad this year.
Doesn't Scott Linehan basically run the offense now? And Rod Marinelli basically runs the defense? If there was ever a "figure-head" Head-coach in the NFL, its Jason Garrett... I guess they still entrust him to make the big in-game decisions like challenging replays, whether or not to punt/go-for-it/kick Fg's/Go for 2... etc.... but I can't assess how much of a say he really would have on the actual game plan. I will say I doubt they stray from the formula.... when they continued to run the ball despite being down 21-0 against St. Louis, you knew that they now had somebody else "driving the bus" besides Garrett (or Jerry).
Murray averaged 5.2 yards per carry last season...and he played all but 2 games. He's proven that he's a stud. Could be due to his OLine...but then we can say Arian was good because of our OLine.
No, I completely agree with you. I have stated that many times in my last few post. OL's dictate running back play. The Cowboys DL is just as bad at stopping the run this year. I think the Texans will lose a close one. The Cowboys are turnover prone and I am convinced that the Texans and Cowboys are both worse than everyone thinks. This schedule might propel Houston in to the playoffs and the optimist in me says, hey we are getting our number one pick back in two weeks and we will be guns blazing on defense. I am excited for that. I just don think Houston is going to win because of there inability to stop the run. One thing I will say, is that we have the advantage in the coaching aspect. I love BOB. SO much better run team than Kubes squads.
Arian was good because of our O-line... certainly he maximized it by having the perfect timing to go along with the ZBS (and he always seemed to choose the "right" hole)... but its not like Arian has significantly slowed down (his success was never really based on speed), and its not like Arian is a whiz like Barry Sanders in terms of breaking tackles or turning the impossible into a big gain. Murray is healthy and happens to be running behind the best O-line in football... I agree that you can't sub out "anybody" and expect the same results, but I also don't think Murray does this behind just an average O-line.
Please man. I dictate running backs ability off of what they do in open space. Peterson, Foster, Forte, Charles, Lynch, and McCoy make guys look stupid in one on one situations. You can't convince me that Murrays tight hits in the open field are better than any I listed above. OL's dictate RB play. All of those listed except Peterson get shut down when the OL stinks it up.
If Foster is close to 100% I think we have a decent chance, but I do think that other team is better than us right now.
Ironcically, I would argue that we've actually played above our potential. We have Ryan Fitzpatrick as our starting QB and our best RB has already missed a game and been totally ineffective in another. Our HOF WR has 0 touchdowns. Our #1 draft pick has only played 2 quarters. All this for a team that lost 14 games in a row a year ago. Yet, we're still 3-1.
Foster WAS on par... emphasis on was. Whether due to injuries or due to over-use (contributing to injuries), and combine with OL issues. And credit DAL's superior OL, as it does make a difference. Regardless... in the game this Sunday, it will be Foster behind our OL and Murray behind their OL. Saying DAL doesn't have a big advantage is just wrong.
So far reading this thread I have been told I am a terrible fan. Getting conflicting info on if is because Texans fans are flaming homers or pessimistic losers. Please advise.
