I never said that winning this game was a certainty. My argument is this, Drew has not messed up just one game. He also messed up the J-Ville game and some others as indicative of 5 TD, 7 INT for the season. Bottom line, Drew has lost games for Dallas they should have won and for a seasoned QB to make consistent decisions wreaking devastating consequences that is inexcusable!

No argument here that the Cowboys have ample weapons. Offense: Rivera, TG, TO, JJ and defense: Spears, Ware and a solid LB core.

But you have to admit if things get tough and tight, the Cowboys might start doubting themselves just a little bit. It human nature, its pure psychological.

If the game is on the line and its Carr vs Bledsoe, I'm betting on David.

Finally, Kuby has had 2 weeks to prepare not just one for this game. I just think that also may make a little bit of difference overall.

Granted the Cowboys will be focused to win this one and the fans may not be so laid back as they usually are up there, but it's still possible that Dallas could come in a little overconfident since they are a 13 point favorite.

The pressure I was referring to wasnt necessarily from within the locker room but was instead from the local/national media though TO probably causes his share of headaches. If Dallas doesnt win like in 2002, the fallout from a media favorite plummeting will be even more ginormous! But Dave Campo is no longer coaching the Cowboys, its Big Tuna!

I dont think this game is going to be near the blowout the pundits are picking. I see this game being a dogfight and decided only in the closing moments of the game. Outcome definitely 7 pts or less.

I think this game will be very entertaining and win/lose I think the pundits might accidentally see some incremental improvement with the Texans that they may have to acknowledge much to their chagrin. If they are going to maintain any sort of credibility. We'll see, I wont hold my breath!

Yes, overall our defense sucks until we prove otherwise. Run defense better get alot better this week, and our cover guys better bring their A+ game because TG and TO plus Whitten at TE, all 3 can burn in the secondary. Pass rush must be consistent for us to have a chance in this one.

The only way the Texans can win this one is force Drew to make plays and not JJ with the game on the line. That's the way I see it.

FWIW, I've been more concerned with the play of the O-line against the Eagles (and partly the Jags) than the play of Bledsoe. Bledsoe obviously made some mistakes that cost us both games, but the line made a LOT of mental mistakes against the Eagles that Bledsoe never really had a chance to do well (although we still almost had a chance to win the game just due to our talent I guess). Put in the Hall-of-Fame QB Troy Aikman from his prime, and he probably would have played pretty much the same (he actually has had some similar games against the Eagles in the past, even during the SB years with all the talent on the team). Bledsoe obviously doesn't do well against pressure, but when the line blocks decently, that usually gives him enough of a chance to make some plays. If nothing else, at least he might be in a better position to make a big play, which would help buy him more time as the game goes on (other team would be more weary of blitzing). Note that Dallas never really did make any big plays against the Eagles, so they never had a reason to stop bringing the pressure.

Bledsoe has made his fair share of mistakes, but if the line plays the same way as they did this past Sunday, we probably won't be going anywhere this year regardless of who the QB is.

Drew really only makes bonehead plays in tough situations. Road games, bad weather, vs good pass rush, combination of such factors, etc. At Jvile and at Phily are not games Dallas expected to win, only have a chance to win which they did (and agreed Bledsoe did not help the cause and was the offense chief mistake maker). I don't remember Drew blowing a game for the Boys where his shirt wasn't dirty (so to speak), and I don't think the Texans can get to him. He is kinda like Kerry Collins. Very accurate and effective with weapons and time in a nice environment, but more ineffective than most without those things.

RC: Imo the line has actually looked better this year, than last year. Especially considering every week, Flo Adams gets a little bit better.

The Eagles had a brilliant blitzing game plan. They usually do.

We are going to tear into the Texans D.

I missed parts of the game, but from what I understand, Flo did not play very well Sunday (didn't really notice it at the time, but it did seem like that part of the line was where the problems occured). I've listened to Parcells and some of the DC.com writers this week, and they seem to point to that being the case. From one of their most recent articles:
    http://www.dallascowboys.com/news.cfm?id=3EF8170D-9ED5-6C12-F3AC49042E3C07B4
I'll give the Eagles credit for putting together a very aggressive and effective pass rush. They are #1 in the league in sacks (IIRC) for a reason. But there were basic things that the line got wrong in that game. For example, I remember one play where someone came inside on a blitz (think it was a blitz), and got to Bledsoe before he even took 2-3 steps back, without being blocked at all from any of the lineman. There's no way that should be happening. Considering the number of times we've played the Eagles, and since apparently they aren't doing anything really different (according to Parcells), I'm not sure why the line made so many mistakes.

I just feel that Adams will get stronger. And we arent facing the Eagles again..... As the season goes, I like this offensive lines potential a lot more than last year. As long as Adams is healthy. Columbo has been a steal.

Oh I agree there. This line is better than the one last year (especially if Adams gets better, which I also agree will happen), and if they can avoid making the mistakes they made Sunday (especially against teams like the Eagles), we'll probably be fine as far as the O-line goes.

I was just saying that some mistakes by the O-line this year have hurt the team, and IMO, those mistakes have hurt the team more so than Bledsoe's "poor" play.

I love it! I mean, seriously! Thankgod the Cowgirls got Palmer to be Drew "Badthrow's" coach. They are like 2 peas in a pod.

Drew: Throws 2 interceptions, and one is returned for a TD. And is sacked 4 times. He does manage to get a TD late in the game though....but too little...too late.

    Carr: 2TD's, one to AJ.

    21-17 Texans.

    ^^^^^^^

I've seen that picture before and at first I thought is was great. Now, I'm not so sure.

To tell you the truth, it just shows what a jackass Gary Walker was. Trash talk other players, not team owners. Show some class.

Say what you want about Jerry Jones, but he did vote for Houston over LA for the new expansion team.

That's funny. Walker was telling Jones "who's yer daddy!" Good one, Swoly! LOL. Love that pic eventhough Walker did little thereafter and has retired, that was a priceless moment. I still think we're gonna win this one! The Cowboys have good players but they are NOT a good team and the more TO yaps the more fragmented they become. There are at least two teams their division that are better the G Men, and the Eagles and maybe the Deadskins but at least two.

So my question to Cowboy fans is how are you going to make the playoffs when you probably will only be in 3rd place in the division? Uhhhhh. :p

I love this new Dallas soapopera which called " I Dont Give A Damn About Winning, I Just Want To Hog The Ball." Of course, you arent allowed to tell TO that he could have caught more balls if only he made an effort.

Oh yeah, TO if you can get fingertips on it you should catch it! Period! Thats why Dallas shelled the bones for you and so far they arent getting their ROI just alot of talk and bellyaching about losing when he is just as much the cause for their losing games as anyone else.

For that reason, IMO I see the Texans winning this game because TO needs to learn football is a TEAM sport and to check your egos at the door. :D

I don't hate the guy, I don't LOVE the guy, but a picture is worth 19,000 words.

Why would Jerry effin' Jones vote for L.A. anyway? It wouldn't make sense and I don't have to explain why. WTF is he going to do, play LA for a governor's cup against the LA NewTeam ? :D

First of all, there is no greater jackass than Jerry Jones. He earned that title for LIFE when he fired, not had resigned, not reassigned, not retired, he F--N FIRED a legend Tom Landry! When he did that ALLl childhood strings to me being a Cowboys fan were permanently cut. How can you defend this guy? How can anyone?

To top that he could not even be correct greedy because if he was, he would have had 3 or 4 more Super Bowl championships and then Dallas would not only been the Team of the 90s but best team EVER! But that's not Jerry's style.

The man has an ego SO big you cant even fit it within the state of Texas. Now with TO's hell I'm surprised this state hasnt stretched out with both their inflated egos a puffing.

Jerry cares about no one but himself and what he can get for himself. He will turn on ANYONE in half a heartbeat if he thinks its so warranted.

BTW, that Walker deal Ithe picture) was provoked, Jones said some snide things prior to the game, Walker was a MAN and told him how it was afterwards! Walker told him to stop being a chicken sh*t and man up.

That's nice, but it doesn't affect me as a Texan fan at all. So why should I care one way or another?

BTW, what were the snide comments JJ was saying before that game? I don't remember.

I do not remember specifically but I believe it was general belittling of the Texans like they dont have a chance. You know, TRASHTALK. It may be shallow to hold that against Jones (but IMO he opened the door and Gary slammed it in his face) so he got what he deserved. McNair would never do something like that. He has CLASS and Jerry doesnt.

By MadMax's own post 9-9-2004, he admits the 'Boys did the talking, and the Texans did the walking (winning). Like I said I dont remember specifics look up in archives I'm sure you will find more than enough ammo for Walker to do what he did. He and the rest of the Texans listened all week to the trashtalking cowboys and when we won someone was bound to get an earful of "eat crow" texan style.
