I'm not worried at all about my job. Signed, Philip Buchannon Bennie Joppru Seth Wand Antowain Smith Sam Cowart Derick Armstrong
Yeah, I wrote that just as they showed Buchannon the door. In reality, he should have been gone LAST year because he ended up getting benched. I still stand by my belief that there is a great amount of complacency on this so-called team. When they came back from the BYE week, the first thing Kubiak told them was that no one was losing their jobs. BIG MISTAKE. They are going to get slaughtered for the rest of this season and there's nothing left to do but grin and bear it.
hey, max - i appreciate, and certainly understand your frustration. but i want to ask you a question. are you a big fan of edgerrin james? ok, perhaps not a "fan," but i'm sure you appreciate the guy's work, right? in his first seven years, all with the colts, he averaged 96.1 rushing yards per game; 4.2 yards per carry and 10 rushing touchdowns per year (in six full seasons; he missed 10 games in 2001). pretty good, right? group hug? he’s led the league in rushing twice and finished among the top 2 in total yards from scrimmage three times. all told, he’s finished among the top 5 rushers four times and been among the top 5 in yards from scrimmage 4 times. last year, he rushed for 1,506 yards and is now 19th all-time in rushing yards. is canton calling? this year with arizona, however, he's averaging 66.3 yds/game; 2.7 yds/carry and is one pace to score just 5 tds. so what's happened to edgerrin james, arguably one of the 2 or 3 best all-around backs in all of football the past seven years? open-ended question; i'd appreciate your thoughts/opinions/theories.
I respect your opinion ... Ok, call it what you will. My angst was hearing that Carr had a look of basically "throwing in the towel" after an interception. Whether we like it or not until further notice, he's the field general and right now this is looking more like Custer's last stand rather than Bridge over River Kwai or Sands of Iwo Jima. We need a QB who is a warrior. Whatever it takes I would rather Kubiak let Carr gunsling it more and dink less. If he makes a mistake at least we go down fighting instead of cowering. Also Sammy, one of my earlier posts I picked up on something someone else was intonating that maybe since our strength is our passing game instead or our running game, why not pass to set up the run rather than run to set up the pass? Yes, I agree. No team that does not have consistent success running the football rarely wins consistently in the NFL unless you're Dan Marino or Dan Fouts. Yes that running game was completely nonexistent for whatever reason. Lundy and Taylor have to charge ahead because we arent bruising anyone with the other tandem right now. I agree something has got to give. I admit perhaps I am a bit of a 'homer' for a better word. It's just I'm a fan and after years of lowered expectations especially the playoff years with the Oilers, I just really want to see this team do well though I am a realist. Kuby's job is akin to Marvin Lewis with Cincy a few years back. Remember there was a time when Cincy was a joke and no one wanted to play there. I say it will take 2 years for this team to be contending for the playoffs. Next year would be nice but realistically within two years. Bottom line alot has to change for this team to be successful. To start with, a new attitude that fights through adversity not runs from it.
