Hey dude. . I definately understand I mean . . I still think Steve Francis needed more time In fact . . I view Carr like other View Steve Francis Francis. . didn't have a post presences the time he was here he didn't have a bunch of great shooters He didn't have the resources around him to succeed Kind of like you say about Carr but at the end of the day . . .5 yrs no real progress Period. . . end of story . . ballgame [Well SF did goto the playoffs and had the highest win total to not goto the playoffs. . but that is neither here nor there] Carr is in Francis mode. . . it don't matter what other do He has to take this team further . .no one cares about the reasons Rocket River
well I posted in the MW thread but no one really cared...so how would you guys grade Mario today? I would say C+ maybe B-. he had 6 tackles, some decent pressures, and that one good run stop behind the line, I didn't think he was impressive but he was more active at least. if he was our 3rd round pick then it would have been a good game.
people just have to realize that this is team hust isn't on the same level with a team like the Cowboys in terms on coaching or talent. The Cowboys are a great team with a bad QB, put Carr on Dallas and they are 5-0. We still have a lot of work to do and talent to add to build this team. It will take 2+ yrs to correct what Capers and Casserly did to this franchise.
Totally agree. Both the Browns and Texans are very poorly run. Way to many bad draft choices. Texans have no o-line, rb, qb and need an entire new defense. Ryans is the only good player. Keep him.
eh, let's not go that far. I'm not a Carr hater and I'm not a Bledsoe fan (never liked the guy in NE, and when I first heard we signed him I just rolled my eyes and thought 'great, I have to cheer for this guy now...'), but this is a bit of a stretch by no means would Carr be some super badass QB on all other teams. I just don't see great intangibles with him. I don't think he has true natural leadership skills (he tries, but I don't think all his teammates buy into it), and I get the sense that he would not respond well under Parcells' coaching style. so I'm not really convinced that Carr would be all that much better for us. but man Bledsoe sure is pissing me off...that horizontal fade pass to Glenn on the goalline should have easily been a TD
this morning lance was talking about how this regime has already shown a bad habit of bringing in players they are familiar with and have some affection for, for lack of a better term. It has really hurt the running game.
as much as I would love to criticize carr, if you can't run, totally inept, you can't pass. dallas seemed like they just dropped 5 and 6 into coverage every play.
Last year it was we could run . . but could not pass block "If it ain't . . . . one thang. . . . . it's another" - an old Song Rocket River
i could not disagree more with you. this team has soooo many question marks, it's silly. 1. they still don't get adequate pressure from the d-line; 2. the secondary is invisible. they can't cover. they don't make plays. that includes robinson at this point, which is very, very scary; 3. the offensive line seems to bring up another question just when you think they have the first one answered. ridiculously bad pass blocking has been the story of this franchise. sunday it looked better. problem is, there wasn't a hole anywhere for a RB to run through; 4. i agree that they need more legit backs...but that won't help until you address #3; 5. carr isn't an answer. in no way has he proved he's an answer. i suppose some could argue he still might be the answer at that position...but color me unimpressed. i'm not a carr believer; 6. please don't waste a pick on a WR....i agree, they could use a better 3rd option, but AJ and Moulds are the lone bright spots on this team, in my view. Here's the real problem. All these problems...yeah they were with us LAST year. We supposedly addressed a few of them over the offseason. Never in a million years would I have dreamed that we'd be as impotent again this year as we were last year. I didn't think we'd be good, by any stretch. But I thought we'd be in games more this year. We've played 5 games. We've been absolutely slaughtered in 4 of them. We're not an offseason away from being a team capable of winning 8+ games. That's what's most discouraging about all of this to me.
You are correct, sir. I admit I bought into all the preseason hype. I thought coaching was the only problem last year. I thought we'd win 6 or 7 games this year. But it's becoming crystal clear to me that it's going to take more than a year or 2 to make this team competitive again. Well, not 'again' since we've never been competitive, but you know what I mean. I still think Kubiak will turn this thing around, but it's going to take a lot longer than I thought. The passing game is the only thing that has improved this year. The running game has actually gotten worse. The defensive secondary is full of players that shouldn't even be in the NFL. 16 days until the Rockets first game....
The talent gap between us and most of the rest of the NFL is pretty extensive...and thats forgivable. (for the current regime anyway...although it would be nice if we would give up trying to corner the market on castoff Packers and Broncos) What irks me is we seem to lack heart. We play well in each and every game...until the first time something goes wrong. We have no idea how to deal with adversity...its like the team visibly deflates the first time the opposition makes a big play.
I was just thankful they showed the NFC game on FOX. Hopefully they'll keep doing that so we don't have to watch the Texans every sunday.
What Kubiak needs to be concerned with is the fact his team gets its ass kicked right after he talks to them at halftime. Teams adjust on us and are outscoring us 48-0 in the 3rd quarter. Where are our adjustments?
I still see 6 wins as a possibility. They've got 2 against Tennessee and 1 ea. against Cleveland (home), Oakland (rd), NYJ (rd), Buffalo (hm), J'vill (hm...road one I'll put down as a loss), and NYG (rd) who have been terrible of late. there is stil la huge talent problem on this team. I wonder if it would have been worth at least trying again for Chris Brown. I think the trade deadline is up as of tonight's game. If he's healthy, he's 100% better than Dayne and Gado. Heck, give Lundy a shot again. Someone can average more than 2 yds per carry...I think.
What specific adjustments would you have made at halftime, MM? What adjustments could have won the game for us yesterday?
does madmax get paid millions to coach a football team. why are you asking him? and that's not a fair response anyway, he's talking about the entire season in general, they haven't scored in the third quarter. that's ridiculous.
i don't know. and i'm betting Kubiak doesn't know much about post-judgment discovery, either! i'm not suggesting he could have won the game for us yesterday. i am suggesting that he has some role in this, too, though. i am suggesting that it's his job to help prepare a team to win each week...and that as an indicator, it would help if they merely looked competitive. i can tell you from perception that when your team is getting its ass kicked week in and week out in the 3rd quarter, it will reflect on the coach. that's just the way it is.
