Carr may not be in the same class as Aikman or Elway but he's no Bobby Douglass either. He can win in this league. Denver is winning with Jake Plummer for Christsake. Was Carr bad today? Absolutely! But he had plenty of company. They ALL sucked! Poor execution, turnovers, lack of effort, lack of intestinal fortitude, stupid play calling - it was all there in the 2nd half. There is a loser's mentality permeating this entire organization and it shows every Sunday on the field. Any adversity and these clowns simply fold up and blow away like leaves in the wind. You can go get Vince Young, Brady Quinn, Matt Leinhart, Carson Palmer whomever and this would still be a pitiful joke of a professional football team. To continue to blame Carr is to ignore the reality of just how bad a team this actually is and also let's the true architects of this disaster (Capers & Casserly) off the hook. But blaming Carr is easier and actually makes a lot of folks feel better so I guess that's what will be the theme around here for the rest of this season.
and Bronco fans can't wait to get rid of Jake Plummer. If Jake Plummer is the ceiling, I think I'd look elsewhere. Apparently the Broncos agree, and moved up to take Cutler for that very reason. again..i'm not blaming Carr exclusively. but you can't on one hand say, "it's everyone's fault...but don't blame Carr." that's a contradiction. i don't think anyone here is suggesting that if you merely replaced Carr that you'd have a winner. i'm certainly not saying that.
One other thing: Jeff is right: this is a make or break year for Carr. If he can't cut it then he's gone next year. Then we all will have to find someone else to blame...
The league will surely be laughing at us after this week. Vince and the Titans beat the Redskins as huge underdogs. Bush and the Saints go to 5-1, beating one of the best teams in the NFC. Meanwhile we rush for 20 yards, with no TD passes and two picks. Not that Vince or Reggie would've won the game for us today, but it doesn't look good. I like the improvements Mario has been showing, but it's getting pretty hard to justify that pick right now.
OK guys. I'm a Cowboys fan but I think Carr looked pretty decent today. How many sacks did the O-line give up for the Texans? Carr had good protection had some good passes. His first INT he threw was a pass that was tipped up in the air. Greg Ellis came diving in and intercepted it. His 2nd INT was to Henry. Henry had been playing the WR's very good all day long. It was bound to happen. If the Texans can get a good RB their offense will start looking better. On the defensive side I dont know what can help that team.
Reggie Bush's performance so far is making it difficult for me to regret not taking him. I'm not that thrilled. But I agree..perception is they're winning and we're not.
Well pretty decent might be going overboard but decent is good. There were some drops by the WR's that hurt Carr. Other than that he faced a talented defense
Last year Carr got sacked how many times? He seems to be getting better protection this year (or today anyways).
i'm having a hard time following how that has anything to do with what i just posted. help me out. last year it was the pass blocking now it's the run blocking...and no good RB's..and WR's dropping balls. and on and on.
Texans looked bad. .. . You know. . .for a moment I thought the Texans were better than the Titans They both lose to Dallas by the same amount I think Titans - 41-14 = 27 Texans - 34 -6 = 28 [close enough] Titans took care of the DeadSkins [the texans could have beat them] I wanna say the Dead-phins topped the Titans bye a few points and the Texans toppled the Dead-phins by a little [Dolphins was VY's 1st game?] I dunno now Those Titan games maybe some nice games VY is getting better everygame the Texans are up and down [though Mario seems to be coming around] Rocket River
You was saying last year the Texans had a good running back and it didn't matter. But what I was getting at was the pass protection wasn't as good last year as it is this year for the Texans. Some one correct me if I'm wrong cause I haven't watched all the Texans games.
Ah. Got it. You're right, the pass protection seems better so far. But this is the worst I've seen in run blocking from the Texans in a while.
Well Dayne and Gado are not good backs. Dayne might be decent but you cant live with a decent back as your primary back. The Texans might need to look RB in the draft in the early rounds this year. Is Davis hurt or something? If so when did he go down?
I think the Texans should seriously look into a Two Back set Dayne is more Full back than Running back these days Rocket River
And don't leave out whomever came up with the inspired idea to not try sending Moulds & Johnson deep especially when Anthony Henry was pressing Johnson as close as he did. Also, if they don't blitz - they don't get to the QB - they are getting no pressure from the D-line period. The secondary can't cover my grandmother and she's been dead for 20 years! The O-line is getting zero push so there are no holes for our (theoretical) running backs and even if there were holes, the same (theoretical) runnings backs are too slow to get to them. All-in-all, this is just one big cluster****...
Thanks Texans for not bothering to show up in the 2nd half, Vegas gets vindicated because our team only knows 'quit when things go bad.' We deserve every ounce of criticism we get from national media. NFL primetime will be laughing hysterically when they do any accidental analysis of this debacle. Way to go Texans!
