Don't be so sure, history says that mediocre to garbage QB's on teams that win a lot will be over hyped every single time. The list is too long to even list in its entirety.
Lol the healthy argument. Such a pointless argument. Anyways happy I was wrong and that the Texans won. now on to Jekyll and Hyde
Are you serious on me adjusting expectations? I'm not the "Fire BOB/Rick/Everybody!" or "Get Tomo Romo/Available Name QB!" Or "Super Bowl OR SELL the team MCNAIR!" guy. How condescending can that be. 20th ranked offense was NOT the expectations of this offense. Thats a conservative amount. It was supposed to be better than the Hoyer/Fitzpatrick teams. And they're actually WELL BELOW that. (For the record, before the season I was with the preseason ratings that ranked Osweiler in the 20's. And I thought there were too many rookies/2nd year/newcomers/unknowns on offense for it to be well oiled, and thought Lamar Miller would be the key addition cuz at least he established himself in the league) Then you list offensive and defensive injuries as reasons to temper expectations. But then the offensive injuries actually EXCUSE the offense, and the defensive injuries you still expect them to be elite. How come the defense cant lose its edge with injuries, but the offense is just what it is? The odd part of this is you say to temper expectations, when your expectations are much higher than mine. I said NOTHING of this team being a Super Bowl contender. For all the plusses they have entirely TOO many question marks to project them that far. Even some of the same issues you mention. Yet you still say "11 wins no matter what". And I say with all the CRAP going on with this team I'm surprised they even have a winning record but I'M GLAD THEY DO. That gives you some duality to simultaneously CHASTISE and wave the finger at people for not putting "support" behind the team, while you set up your OWN expectations as some dignified standard of fan knowledge. ("You're being an unreasonable baby thinking bottom scoring offense should be better, but -- COME ON DEFENSE NO EXCUSES, Get us those 11 WINS!!)
That was about my expectations...if fully healthy. The goal was 15, 20 was the more reasonable hope. Due to injuries and other nonsense, they've fallen short of that. The expectation for the defense was that they'd be top 3 in the NFL if fully healthy. The goal was #1, #2 or 3 was the more reasonable hope. Due to injuries and other nonsense they've fallen short of that. Expecting the offense to still be what the hope that it could have been pre-season is no more unfair than to expect the defense to still be what the hope that it could have been pre-season. That said, it's much more realistic to think that the defense could still be a couple points better than league average than it is to think that the offense is going to be league average or better.
I would hate to be btgs boss. Explaining to him how he did something wrong would take a week long conference
LOL, the thought of you being capable of being ANYONE'S boss, let alone my boss is one of the most unintentionally hilarious things you've said here.
Some fun night-time reading Why the Texans will be exposed as playoff pretenders against the Colts http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/...w-prediction-matchup-analysis-playoffs-121016 "The winner of this game will have a big advantage in the division, and it's why the title will come down to the Titans and Colts."
As a Titans fan watching this game extremely late after our games clock hit 0, it was tough to decide who to pull for. If the Colts would have won, we wouldn't own the tie breaker, nor have a game with them to end the season. However, they would still have to face the Vikings and Raiders on the road. You guys, with the win, would still own the tie. Dealer, but we'd get a game at the end of the year, meaning we'd just have to be tied with y'all going into that game to at least have a chance. That however word again, y'all get the Bengals and Jags at home before facing us to end the season, meaning we would have to match yalls record before our meeting.. unfortunately we have to head to KC to play the Chiefs Before heading for Jacksonville, then back home against you guys. Most Titans fans including myself thought it would be an extremely........ long shot to win one out of the two big games before y'all (Broncos and Chiiefs). Now we to play even with y'all even before we host y'all at home which will be extremely tough with us having the Chiefs at KC... and y'all.. wel hosting the Bengals. Not sure we make it to y'all tied IMO. Would have to take one unreal win against the Chiefs because I don't see y'all losing to them. Well here's to an interesting finish!
We beat KC, and hopefully they beat you. Nothing would be sweeter than beating everyone in our division twice this year. Who knows what will happen, as our players seem to be dropping like flies. Each week we add more players to the injury list. Our injured reserve could practically be a starting lineup. If Osweiller got hurt and our backups had to come in then we could really be a threat.
Brock and the Texans are now 2-0 against Andrew Luck and the Colts. The soon to be Richest QB in the world was 0-2 against the Texans this season. Sure Brock is not as good as Luck... but geez at least the Texans are trying things.
That defense though! Always fun shutting down the Colts....and our first sweep of them. Is that 9 straight wins vs our crappy division? Let's finish the AFC South.
Yet so many here would rather be Colts fans this year because they have a QB. That is all that matters.
