Can't beat the worst team in the league with that strategy. Bottom line is the Texans are screwed.

5th round rookie qb that just started his 4th game is unfortunately playing like a 5th round rookie qb that just started his 4th game. It sucks more that these 4 starts are in the latter part of the season where we are fighting for playoff seeding, but that does not change the fact that Yates is a 5th round rookie qb that just started his 4th game and is playing like one.

The "we really want this player to be a diamond in a rough, so unleash him until we come around ourselves to the fact otherwise" spreads from the GARM to the Texans. Hell, I want TJ to succeed, but it's tempered with the aforementioned.

On the flip side, you could just as easily say that all the other teams are blowing chances as well.

We needed help, they gave it to us, we couldn't take advantage of the help, they still keep giving help to us.

Patriots easily control their own fate though. Show up against the Bills next week and they're a lock for a BYE. We needed help, got it on a silver platter twice but couldn't get it done on our side.

They did hand the 2nd best defense in football a 4-point lead with less than a minute left and no time-outs.

Yeah, 1:56, actually - which is an important distinction because they didn't even have the two-minute warning.

Point stands - you hand a 4-point lead to the #2 defense in football against Dan Orlovsky and that should be a W 11 out of 10 times.

Do you sense any excitement about the Texans on this site at the current time? Me neither. The consensus opinion is clearly that they are finished for the season. That would be a really lousy way to end. :(

Obviously, we're a long shot to win the SB. It doesn't mean they we can't witness a Houston team win a playoff game for the first time in most of our lives.

Man, you're effing pessimistic. You don't think excitement will pick back up starting next week, when it's going to be the lead-up to a freaking PLAYOFF GAME?!? Stop being such a sad sack and get PUMPED. This team is going to be in the PLAYOFFS a week from Saturday, and the game is going to be in RELIANT STADIUM. That place is going to be rocking, and I for one am not going to lose the forest for the trees. There is no reason to be so down already....let them play the game first. What's the point of being so downtrodden when the team you're rooting for is one of the 12 remaining teams left standing at the end? Let it all play out.
