I would rather have Garcon out there starting than Collie. Collie burned us last game and has MUCH better hands than Garcon. I'd rather have the guy out there that might drop some passes. Addai is not great, but is a HUGE upgrade from Mike Hart or Donald Brown.
Collie is a much better receiver than Garcon. Sure, Peyton can still get Garcon involved, but I dont think people are understanding the role that Collie has played this year. He's been pretty baller.
Garcon is a speed guy....yes, Collie has better hands but Manning will connect with whoever is out there...I think he will miss Clark on those seem routes down the middle more than anything If D Brown is healthy, Addai is not MUCH better...he is slightly better. They shared carries for a good part of last year and they were 14-2 dont forget
Which is exactly the reason why I think that whoever is out there is going to present a problem for the secondary. Collie was not even on anyones radar at the start of the season...but he is in a system where he and others have been very successful. Anthony Gonzalez was productive 2 years ago when he was thrown into the mix after Marvin Harrison left for the same reason
I'm pretty sure this has been posted every week since week 2. I'm also pretty sure every team is going to be ready for it every game. It's not gonna happen.
Its true that Petyon can still find Garcon, but Collie is on another level. Garcon has barely been a part of the Colts offense this year...and there is a reason for that. 8% of Peyton's completions have been to Garcon this season. On the other hand, it can be argued that Collie has been the best receiver on the team this season, including Clark and Wayne.
100% wrong? Ill admit to being wrong about the split in carries....as Addai did, in fact, have 3x as many carries....however, Brown had an equal avg yards per rush and also 1/3 the amt of TDs....which pretty much equates to being equally effective when on the field
It doesn't matter who the receivers are. Manning could complete a pass to freaking *me* in tight coverage. To beat the Colts, we gotta do what we did in week one. Run the ball down their throats, stay on the field a long damn time. Peyton can't beat you from the sideline.
When a player like Garcon is notoriously known for dropping passes, that hurts their offense. It doesnt matter how amazing Manning is at throwing into tight spaces...you still need someone that can catch the ball. Collie would make more plays than Garcon...therefore, we are better off.
Get the lead, then pound the ball with Arian and Ward. That's what they have to do, or it could get ugly.
Exactly, Manning cannot catch passes. As long as receivers are capable of catching the ball, yes, Manning can do a lot of damage. But when he is throwing to guys that are known ball droppers, that does nothing but help us.
Fixed. They have to do much of what they did in week 1. Keep Peyton and gang off the field by running the ball down their throats. Make the Colts prove they can stop the run. If they do that, it will likely be because they're putting 8 or 9 in the box...leaving Mr. Schaub and Mr. Johnson with space to do some damage.
Well, I *wish* the Texans were good enough to beat the Colts at full strength. There's a part of me that cringes when we celebrate who's going to be out, and then, assuming we could beat this team (and I'm not predicting it), we'd thump our chest like "look at us we beat the COLTS!" The Texans can't beat the full-strength Colts yet. Speaking of which, who is out on their defense? Because every time recently the Texans have had a fighting chance (or a win) against the Colts, it's because their defense was thin, not their offense. Bob Sanders that one time, and either Sanders or Freeney back in week 1 this year. Who's out this week on the Colts' D?
