Texans 35 Colts 24 PaidTons Manning throws for his lowest ever as Antonio Smith gets 3 sacks, Cushing gets 1. *Yes, we bench Kareem. ¡¡¡VAMOS, TEXANS!!!! Is there really a need to call people names?
The agenda for this game is the same as EVERY game we play the Colts. Give them Arian Foster early and often, keep Peyton off the field, and when he is ON the field, get pressure on him. The reason why we won the first game was because we never allowed him to get comfortable in the pocket. Sure, he got his yards and numbers, but throughout the game, he was never really allowed to get into a rhythm. The biggest factor in the first game was the long drive to open the third. We crammed the ball down their throat, and they couldn't do ANYTHING about it. We're getting our LT back, so the offense will be the exact same offense as it was opening weekend. Defensively, again, there isn't a WHOLE lot we're gonna be able to do, but the Colts not having Collie, Clark, and Addai can only help us. Obviously we can go ahead and assume that Reggie Wayne and Pierre Garcon are going to tear us apart, but if we can keep Donald Brown at bay and put PRESSURE on Peyton, we're going to have every chance in the world to win this game. At the end of the day, this is another game that can turn out to be HUGE for the Texans season. If we win, we're 5-2 (4-0 in the conference, 2-0 in the division) with a sweep of the Colts. Let's get it done!
^ Dude! Why aren't you coaching the team instead of Kubiak?!?!? I kid. But I like your assessment, sir.
This should be a good game...I expect Manning and crew to come out sharp and looking for revenge...But the Texans coming off a bye and ready to show the world they're for real will be awesome... Texans: 35 Colts: 31
this is a big game. Texans can't afford to not beat this beatable colts team. Let's pray that the defense makes a similar shift like it did last year after starting out horrible, they played respectable the rest of the way. Colts defense is going to be fired up after what happened last time...i'm nervous.
A win here could really catapult our season. I'm not baking on it, but we've played them tough the last 3 times, and have confidence after beating them once this year. Not to mention, Dallas Clark is out! With a win: 4-0 in conference 2-0 in division Last year: 6-6 in conference 1-5 in division These are the games that really matter, not the Giants and Cowboys. We are knocking down our direct opponents by winning these games.
HOU 35 IND 0 The defense responds resoundingly as they shut out the Colts and Peyton Manning for the first time in Peyton's career.
I look at this game much like the start of an NBA playoff series. You always hear the road team at the beginning of a playoff series say that their goal is to get one out of two. If they get the first game then they accomplished their goal and have nothing to lose in the second game. That's the way I think the Texans should approach the Indy game. During the offseason the goal for the Texans was to get a win against the Colts. Owen Daniels was on Total Access a few months ago and said that very thing. Well, they got their win in week 1. Now they can go out and play without any pressure. I say open up the playbook and try some new things. I would love to see some tricky stuff during the game. If it works, great. If not, no big deal. The Texans are not expected to win the game so it doesn't matter if the plays blow up in their face. Try a fake field goal. If it doesn't work, oh well, the Colts were supposed to win anyway. Even if the trick plays don't work they serve a purpose. Our opponents will see it on film and must spend some time thinking about it. Time spent on that takes time away spending on how to stop Schaub and Johnson. As the underdog the Texans should take some risks to try and win the game. Look how Cleveland won its game last week against New Orleans. Talent wise they had no shot at beating the Saints. Brees had a bad game but the Browns' trick plays really helped them win the game. The Texans should learn from that and try a similar approach. Texans 27 Colts 23
Said it week one. Texans are better than the Colts this year, don't get caught up in the hype and the name on the front of the jersey. Titans are also better than the Colts.
Mario always lights it up in primetime games, lets hope the rest of the defense follows.. their coming off a bye but so are we.. Our defense will turn things around.. book it. we always do, hopefully this year we'll do it sooner rather than later.. it's easy to pour the hate on our corners because they have been garbage so far, but there's something that the coaches see in them, i mean Kubiak is virtually trusting kareem and glover with his job on the line.. just sayin' with clark and collie out, our corners look above average this week.. peyton looks like peyton but our corners look average.. donald brown won't do anything duane brown gives up 1-2 sacks from freeney Everyone starts Garcon as their third reciever on their fantasy team Mario gets 2.5 sacks Glover gets his first career pick and shoots the bird at Manning foster has a hundy on the ground... Owen Daniels finally looks like 08'-09' Owen Daniels 28-24 texans (please god)
More than a lot of players, injuries make Mario disappear. He aggravated his groin pull, and poof. Hopefully the two weeks will get him back and aggressive. If we're crazy amounts of lucky, we'll see help for the DL in the form of Anderson or Ogunleye. For the love of Pete, someone play well enough to get Okoye off the field.
The extra time off makes all the difference for the Texans, and they just barely pull off the win. Texans: 31 Colts: 28
I need Schaub to come up big this week with Boldin/Hillis/Desean Jackson all on bye weeks. Not to mention a day to day Steven Jackson.
Agreed. I enjoy Gruden's enthusiasm. So much better than listen to that pompous jackass Joe "I'd rather be at an opera" Buck or something.
