This is the NFL, teams play without their starters all the time. The Texans are missing 2 starters on offense too. It's called DEPTH. The good teams usually have it.
The problem with that thinking is that by giving one away that we weren't expecting to win puts way more pressure on this team to win the ones they are "supposed" to win. And this team doesn't deal with pressure well.
I will say this. Schuab PUT HIS TEAM IN A POSITION TO WIN! The kicker just could not cash in. I will say Schuab has impressed me most by not giving up. Several times this year he threw some bullisht in the 1st half but still had strong second halfs that is an important trait to have Rocket River
Yeah, I wish he was Manning. He did ok, but his pass to AJ early was horrible then almost did it again in the 2nd half on the same pattern. I don't blame him though. So many penalties, and turnovers......yuck. DD
The Texans lost this game it was theirs to win but couldn't pull it out. I can't wait till next weekk Tom Brady is going to pick that Colts D apart.
I guess we were "exposed" I'm happy with the effort and poise. Not happy with the execution and penalties. Also not happy with Kubiak and the team again having no awareness on those "challengable" plays. I can say with all confidence that this team is still getting better... and they can still play much better. THAT is encouraging... that this team can still have a winning record, but actually be "underacheving" in a lot of its games.
He needs to realize he has pressure and should of just took the shot. Looking back at the Cardinals game he threw a big pick in the 4th quarter of that one to. Maybe he just isnt clutch.
Texans played didn't even play close to a perfect game and almost beat the Colts. I think that is a postive step. Schedule rest of the way is pretty easy but you never know with this team. Texans finally have a real strong safety after 8 years in Bernard Pollard.
And then you'd be whining about him taking a sack to knock them out of borderline field goal range. It was a fluke play. Seriously, if you can watch that last drive of the game and conclude that Schaub is not clutch, you're an idiot.
This was probably Schaub's worst game of the year, but the heart and "clutchness" he showed on that last play reassured me that this guy has it. That was a ballsy performance on that last drive: he kept the chains moving, he throw perfect strikes, and he took a break from being the "statue" he is and he actually got himself out of trouble by moving (what a concept!). All in all, I'm proud of this team, and proud of our QB. Our defense has got to stop with the penalties though, it's absolutely ridiculous. Player of the game: Pollard
Maybe you don't watch that much football. He's already halfway through attempting the throw, and you want him to pull it back because he's getting nailed? Maybe he should just have happy feet and fall down at the semblance of any pressure like most skiddish QB's that get hit too much do. He's about on par with most QB's with end of game situations. He was "clutch" in GB last year and Tennesee this year. Apparently "unclutch" in Arizona and now today. At least he didn't rosencopter...
Another heart-breaking loss this season. I wish that we could have ran a play after the moats fumble. Seemed like common sense to me I still think we can win 10 games this season but not sure if that gets us in. My original prediction of 11 wins seems out of reach. Just have to take care of business at home in the next 2. Our schedule after the Colts game gets lovely.
He threw the interception with tons of time left in the game, should of taken a sack, and tried to recover and at least punted and given the Colts worse field position. I'm going to conclude that he isn't Clutch....because we lost that game. Last time I checked being Clutch was winning when it mattered.
This was a tough loss but I'm over it already. Sure, the Texans played terribly, and it is a heartbreaking way to lose, but who was expecting us to win this game anyway? I say they can take down the Titans, and then take down the Colts with your second chance at home, but this game is IN Indy, against a very good Colts team. At least the season isn't over. What I will say, though, is aside from needs on defense (that seem to have been mitigated over the last several games, but I'm still skeptical), this team really needs a consistently good running back. Moats is not the answer, and Slaton has really gone downhill since last year.
