me tooo!! Only in my scenario manning retires after crying in the press conference and for the patriots game, brady doesn't even show up for the game because Gisele is in labor. Other than that, just about the same

Anybody notice how far back Moats was behind the quarterback before his runs compared to Slaton.

I think there are several keys to victory:

    1. Confidence- The team can't be hesitant, missing OD shouldn't cause them to return to the laughable let's establish the run offense, keep the passing attack in full throttle, then let Moats and Slaten sandwich in some run plays- be confident in your identity.

    2. Consistancy- I think the defense must play efficiently, conistently and hard. Don't get out of character if they move the ball in the 1st qtr. no sweat don't let that get you out of your assignments trying to do too much; If the defense stops the Colts early they must be careful of letting up a little-The Texans must play 4 qtrs to win.

    3. Andre Johnson- hope he's completely healthy- we need him to enforce his will on the Colts secondary- get him involved early with some quick slants and some short curls.

    4. Big plays- It is important that we convert 3rd downs, and we could use some big special team plays

    5. (-) Turnovers- Message to Slaten, Jacoby, Schaub- never mind no jinx intended

    6. (+) Turnovers- defense should make something happen especially look to stript he ball.

The Colts are beatable if you don't let them get way out ahead.

Stay close and it will come down to who makes the plays in the 4th qtr.

Above all else avoid turnovers and I think we will be there in the 4th qtr.

Well said. I would add that it might be just as important to get Kevin Walter involved early and often. W/o OD, Indy is going to center all of their attention to Andre. Walter could have a big day getting passes underneath the coverage.

I have this strange feeling that DROB's breakout game happens this week. He hasn't had any picks and it seems right for him to have a good sunday.

As expected OD was placed on IR today. To take his spot on the 53-man roster the Texans signed DE Jesse Nading from the practice squad.

To fill in the two open practice squad positions the Texans signed LB Marcus Freeman and TE Dezmond Sherrod.

The Colts have yet to play a team with a winning record this season. We're the first team they'll face with an above .500 record.

Colts lose starting LB Tyjuan Hagler for the season...

    Also

"cornerback Marlin Jackson (strained ACL) did not practice. Also missing practice were receiver Anthony Gonzalez (knee), cornerback Kelvin Hayden (knee) and safety Bob Sanders (elbow)."

It's still early in the week, but those three guys are key to what they do on defense

Wasn't Sanders out for one of the games we played 'em close in last year? Kinda sucks the air out of "we played 'em close last year!".

Just win this game, The Colts are not going undefeated. If we win this game it will turn our entire season around.

This is our superbowl game, this is it.

That's how I feel about this game. Can we do it...? Sure, why not? If any team can lay the smacketh down on the Colts this year it's going to be a team like ours who can score with them.

    So pumped up.

    Here's the injury report:

Sunday's game will mark the first time Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson have played together against the Colts. All previous times those two have been with the Texans, either Schaub or Johnson were out with an injury or sickness.

Wow, didn't even think about that. Schaub has only played them one full game, which was early in 2007 (that game without Andre).

The key to this game for both teams will be the defense making plays.

Both the Colts and the Texans have great offenses, but which ever teams defense can make the most stops and frustrate the QB and the offensive coordinator of the opposing team will probably be the one to take this game.

It is a huge test for our defense and will be one for our offense, because I don't think we have faced a defense as good as the Colts this year. I expect more then a few running plays because they need to see how good Moats is against a solid defense as well as see Steve's current level. Both will contribute big I think in this game though unless the Colts are suddenly outstanding at stopping the run.

Wow! That's crazy how Andre and Matt have never played a game against the colts together.

I believe the time is now! Texans are on top of their game, and getting better and better.

It's time. Beat down of Indy...Texans 6-3 for the bye week, then a smackdown of the t*** on MNF.

    Go Texans.
