Since our pass blocking is so inept, the Colts are able to double both outside receivers, and still have enough pressure to force Carr out of the pocket... but I'm sure you noticed that already on your own. Move the pocket!
Well yes....but he is actually getting good protection right now, Gado dropping that did not help much. What would really help this team would be a running back like Bryan Westbrook who can catch the outlet and do something with it. Right now, there are no threats as an outlet.....at least as far as running after the catch. DD
Well, Taylor Buchholz still shows promise and Jeriome Robertson did have a 15 win season (even if it was with ridiculous run support). I guess that leaves Wandy "my rims got jacked" Rodriguez. So yes, David Carr is like Wandy Rodriguez.
Yea... he's getting good protection because the Colts know that the only way they can get beat is by the deep pass... thus, they're doubling the outside, and not having many guys up front (and yet they're still able to collapse the pocket, somewhat). That has been the problem since day 1 of this franchise... that the opposing team can do both: double the good wr's, as well as get to the qb. Normally, teams can only do one or the other against a NFL offense. not both.
The argument was that they should stop doing the roll out, and start just moving the pocket depending on which side collapses from the pressure... problem is, you can't really predict that, let alone do it every play (which was what was suggested). They have to be able to run the ball, and complete the underneath pass... the Colts (with a big lead) aren't going to let you beat them over the top.
By design, yes... but when the team can't implement a pocket in the first place, what are you asking for? Regardless, the pass protection will be there now that the Colts aren't bringing the heat (basically playing prevent).
I'm not asking for anything, I'm just saying you guys keep making fun of dadakota for saying move the pocket and all I'm saying that's a legimate option. I don't care if they move the pocket or not.
who is the play by play guy. mr. obvious. "you hate to have a penalty on a touchdown, especially in the red zone" "kubiak came into a bad situation"
