I just can't picture Dunta Robinson being that much important to the team. I'm not saying he sucks or anything, but it's just no way that he was that lockdown of a cornerback that this team would be on pace to be the worst defense in NFL history. Kareem has one interception so far and that's one more than Dunta had all of last year (I think Dunta had no interceptions, kindly correct me if I'm wrong here). What about Jacques Reeves? Should the Texans bring him back as well since he was part of the duo of last year's cornerbacks? It just doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever on what's going on with the defense except the young cornerbacks getting the blame for it. And I hate this Bye, it's gonna be the longest two weeks of my life.
That's what SHE said. WTH? You're grading a cornerback on the amount of interceptions he has? FAIL is emminent.
This is going to be a TOUGH weekend for Bye. They have to face the mighty Texans collective offense and some guy named Peyton Manning. The unfortunate part, of course, is that Peyton and Co. will get to watch film of our "defense" for two weeks. Yikes.
LOL @ "Fortunate." Turn that frown upside down. The Texans will watch "what went wrong the first meeting" for two weeks, too. Sounds scary. Never mind.
deja vu all over again Last season the Texans beat the bill to go 2 games over .500. This season the Texans beat the chiefs to go 2 games over .500 In the bills game a starter got injured and was out for the rest of the season. In the chiefs game a starter got injured and is out for the rest of the season. Both players got injured without contact. Next game against the colts Next game against the colts
I do not understand how this is such an impossible task. Don't they take reps against the offense in practice? Jackson should have months of practice covering Andre, Jacoby, or Walter, all 3 are shining examples of the kinds of receivers you'll see in the league.
i don't think it's that easy. it's possible we just missed on the draft pick. this kid played in the SEC. not exactly a lot of wide open, pro style offenses there.
When the schedule first came out I figured the worst record the Texans needed to have at the bye in order to make the playoffs would be 4-2. That's where we are right now. I don't think the Texans would make the playoffs if they had a 3-3 or worse record at this point in the season. With a 4-2 record I still like their chances for the playoffs. The schedule gets brutal from here on out. Six out of the next nine games are on the road including two sets of three out of four. If the Texans go 5-4 in those nine games then that puts them at 9-6 going into week 17 against Jacksonville. Win that game and we're 10-6 and there's a good chance at making the playoffs. It also depends which games the Texans win. Of course, the divisional games are most important. Besides those games the contests against the Chargers, Jets and Ravens would be next. We'll be fighting those teams for seeding. Take two out of three and that should vastly improve our chances. Anything better than 5-4 in the next nine games would be icing on the cake. Can we dream going 6-3 with a chance for an 11-5 record in week 17??? An 11-5 record pretty much guarantees a playoff spot. Only twice since the schedule went to 16 games has there been a team with an 11-5 record that failed to make the playoffs. It happened a couple of years ago with New England and also in the mid-80s with Denver. Let's hope the Texans get healthy during the bye and make a playoff push during the last 10 games.
Too early to tell if they missed or not. A lot of rookies have struggled this year so far. Brandon Graham got benched a couple of weeks ago. Sean Weatherspoon got benched this week. Eric Berry hasn't been good. Kyle Wilson hasn't played well. Jerry Hughes has been active for only one game. Gerald McCoy has only 8 tackles amd no sacks in 5 starts. Dan Wiliams was inactive for being overweight. Rolando McClain looks very slow. Two best rookies have been Ndamukong Suh who has played like a All-Pro and Ear Thomas who has been a ballhawk.
Add in that he was known as a physical tackler first, cover man second. Sadly, I think they KNEW who they were getting and that they wanted a CB specifically to help with RBs that get to the edge (Jones-Drew, Johnson).
oh my crap, my brain is numb. you're kidding right??? what did i JUST SAY??? let's read it again...very closely this time. slowly. get your finger out of your nose first. there. now. read it. Originally Posted by MadMax i didn't say they missed...i said they may have missed
