Teams are low-balling the Texans, that's why you won't see any trades of Fuller, Watt, Cooks, etc... Just wait til the offseason and let the GM/HC make the decisions.
Teams are used to dealing with BoB. A little birdie told me the Texans won't make any major trades cause they truly think they can run the table and make the playoffs.
Please don't trade Fuller or Cooks for peanuts. I've have enough of the peanut trades. Get a real GM before making those decisions. Teams have very little incentive to offer fair value. Do not get desperate and dig the hole deeper. A 5th round pick for Fuller or Cooks doesn't help us in any way, shape, or form. This infatuation with draft picks at all costs is absurd.
He's cheap and useful in situations. No reason to trade him for what likely are 6th and 7th round pick offers.
Other front offices trying to vulture players from the Texans for cheap. I don't blame them, but I hope we don't get desperate and dump guys just for perceived value of day 3 draft picks. Still time for them to F this up even more. With Deshaun Watson you should never be in full fire sale mode. You retool, restructure contracts, and get a new coach in here to bring an offensive system that Deshaun can fully flourish in. And hopefully your new GM can actually start finding mid round picks that actually see the field and contribute.
I'm fine with a fire sale (presuming we got adequate value back) only because the Texans will need to make some serious cuts just to get under the cap. That's not even talking about getting us to a place where we can be possible player in FA or resigning Fuller.
i don't know much on the GM personnel front, but the colts have done a solid job the last couple years revamping that team.
Ed Dodds would be an amazing hire. Rumors have suggested that he is reluctant to leave the Colts but that might be from the Colts themselves. Dodds is def someone who should be near the front of the line for the GM job either way.
