The Buc's played some pretty good teams though so I wouldn't put too much in the stats. Saints twice, Lions, Atlanta, and San Fran... outside of the Colts.. the other teams were pretty good too. Speaking of the Colts -155 pt differential just screams full on tank mode. Cougs would beat that team. if this was last years Texans.. this would be a trap game. However, this years Texans are not last years Texans. Texans - 38 Bucs - 17
Probably skewed by Forte running wild in London. Those overseas games have been shining examples of bad defensive showings.
I'm really excited for this game. The Texans have more talent, but I think this game will be close. A convincing win by the Texans here will go a long ways. Houston - 24 Tampa - 20
OMG, I just watched that - too awesome!,...Good job Barwin hiding your face on the bench press - LOL !
The Texans' longest winning streak is 6: four to close 2009, two to open 2010. I'm pretty sure that four-game winning streak to close 2009 is their only four-game in-season winning streak to date.
Whats the latest on Casey? I saw that he was limited in practice all week, but probable for the game. I never saw him in the game. Has Vickers supplanted him? I thought Casey brought us some awesome flexibility and before he got hurt he seemed to be doing a decent job run blocking too. Has Kubes said anything about him? Edit: Found this from Kubes on Monday
Vickers is a better run blocker. Casey is more of a threat to draw a defender away due to his pass-catching ability (essentially, he's an H-back, not a fullback). All things considered equal, this offense runs the ball better when the fullback makes blocks/opens holes... and its no coincidence that their running numbers have gotten better while Vickers has gotten better (and gotten more playing time). I think if teams are stopping the base running game, and daring us to pass, Casey will get more time... but otherwise, I don't see any problems with Vickers getting the nod over Casey.
I'll take Vickers over Casey everyday, or Vickers with Casey's hands. While I'd like to see what kind of trick plays they can draw up for Casey, I don't expect anything to be close to his performance in the Saints game. Kubiak said in the presser afterwards that those were either broken plays or plays not designed for Casey. It's not like he had separation on his wheel route, it was just a perfectly placed drop.
Man things are gonna looking great if we can win this one without AJ. A bye week with a healthy AJ returning afterward would equal 13 wins
Part of me says that we should at least give Andre a quarter or a half here. It sounds stupid, but give him some time, see how he feels during the game, and go from there. He'll have two weeks to recover again, and then we'll really know if he needs to sit longer or if he can go. The ultimate priority at this point is having Andre ready for the playoffs.
OT: John Clayton's midseason report came out and 3 Texans made the list. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7...-picks-award-winners-elite-quarterback-review And he gave us a "B" for his midseason grades. Go Texans!
Man we always get the s***-end of the stick when it comes to announcing teams. Marv Albert is terrible. It's like he's not even watching the game half the time. Yet another reason the NBA lockout needs to end, so he can go back to that.
Clayton also said that Brian Cushing is the best ILB in the league, Eric Winston is the best OT in the league and Chris Myers is the best center in the league.
