You’ve already seen him learn a ton. He’s making reads at the line this year more consistently and effectively than any other point in his career. The Patriots game was the epitome of this, with the usual Belichick defense that takes away two thirds of your options, and you have to throw it to the open man no matter what. But, he’ll still have games/stretches where he’s got to work through it... as does every young QB, including Mahomes and 2001-2003 Brady.
The last 17 years Raiders, chiefs, broncos, titans, ravens, patriots, steelers and colts have gotten first seed. 4 pffft. We should just aim for first round bye, 1st seed (best team in afc) probably too hard to achieve for a coach of BoB caliber.
If it wasnt for Winston leading drives, they would not have scored. That team is a team that has Winston as a qb so that's the team. It's also not like they haven't beaten teams whose qb was not Winston. They beat the team as constructed and I'll take the win personally.
14-2 Chargers that lost in the Divisional round. Amazing how many #1 seeds lose in the Divisional round.
rest all our starters next week and prepare for Buffalo. bob with 2 weeks of prep = Baltimore fiasco so maybe he shouldn’t prepare for buffalo
Texans got lucky to be flexed to the late game ... they can see if the Chiefs lose or not ... if they lose, go all out ... if they win, rest up for the playoffs
Comparing the Texans totality of record in 17 years to the rest of the league when the nfl specifically made it harder on expansion franchises after carolina's and jacksonville's success makes wonder why i argue about this with some you Some of yall throwing out the numbers with apparently no understanding of context is sad. I envision yall typing that ignorance with smug i showed them looks on your faces I assume not many franchises have been to playoffs in 33% of their seasons of existence
Some of you have no context at all. Texans went from no playoffs in their first 10 seasons, to 6 division titles in their next 9. Yes, people want more playoff success. However, it is HARD to get to Super Bowls. It is HARD to get to Conference Championship games. Oilers got to TWO in their NFL history in Houston. Look at the histories of various teams. You will be surprised how long it took for teams to make it to one AFC/NFC championship game, let alone multiple.
Honestly no one cares that a franchise that have been 33% of their seasons of the existences in playoffs, especially if the playoff record is shtty as fk. Winning the superbowl is hard, but that should always b our target. Dont wanna knee jerk after this game, but i honestly dont think we r legit superbowl contenders especially if we struggle so hard to score in the first quarter against literally any team. This franchise seems to b doing the bare minimum just to appease certain fans that brags about winning AfC south division title like it means something. Im honestly surprised no one made a afc south division champion thread yet. 1 year of superbowl glory every few years or hell deep playoff run > multiple division titles and quick playoff elimination.
Name one person in here that is satisfied with division championships? That fallacy and premonition is a worse take than any other take in here. likewise, not a single person claimed this was a Super Bowl contending team at the start of the year. Most said 6-10 and many expected another 2-14 like season. Now that they actually did string some wins together, many are claiming they should have gone 13-3 or 14-2... just total inconsistency on expectations. like I’ve said in other threads... they have a Franchise QB, they have a legit o-line, and they have cap space. You can be a good team or have options to build a better team with those three facets in place. The Texans have never had all three at the same time in their history.
I understand the goal. There are 32 teams trying to get there. The vast majority have had over 50 chances. The Texans have had 17 Its ignorant to compare them to the rest of the league on that basis
